The multiple opinion I like, dislike or am meh about Taco Charlton thread **merged**

I had a dream two months ago that Taco would be our pick. Not sure why I can't have a dream predicting something more useful and profitable. I wasn't excited about it then and I'm not excited about it now. I like him as a player and I think he will be good but I feel like his ceiling isn't all that high.... but his floor isn't low either. He was probably as safe a pick as we could've made. The draft had a huge run on players I liked and hoped might fall to us so I'm okay with Taco I guess. I would've been excited and curious about a trade down from one and get someone like Bowser or Willis or Basham high in two but those guys are more boom/bust picks.
There are still a lot of great players left and there should be a DB at 60 for us although I really want Quincy Wilson.

I wouldnt go so far,we have Mayowa, tapper and Moore.I am hoping one of them will come through.

honestly, I see bunch of guys who would start on maybe Cleveland in that group. You would think what Aaron Rogers did in playoffs would get the message across. Apparently it didn't so Dallas will need to address this again next year. I would have gone with guy who has relentless motor (Watt) and not the guy who scouts nicknamed "soft taco" because of long stretches of plays he took off at Michigan.

yes.I hope Marinelli lays down the law day 1.He seems to stop in his track when the play is not coming his way .If you dont hustle to the ball you are not playing in the Marinelli Defense.

But then we would have another injured player to complain about.

Do you think the scouts did their homework on this guy? I mean you're going to throw a bunch of money in this kids lap and he's not going to take plays off?
It's going to take a couple years to judge the guy just hope for the best.

At this point I'd give us a C.

I don't love the pick and wanted Watt over him. I'm curious if they are looking at productivity and 'loafing' which can cause you to mis-fire at times. But OTOH, I'm giving the scouts and coaches a break here and trusting they know what they are doing. So put me in the 'meh' category.

C-

You don't reach for need and leave better prospects on the board.

Charlton is nothing special. Very disappointing pick.

Better players on the board in King and the DT from MSU (cant remember his name at the moment)

Also-- Watt is more raw but looks more like a natural RDE to me. Taco looks slow and reminds me of Greg Ellis.

Guess you can do worse than an 8-10 sack steady DE though... welcome aboard Taco! Work hard and do everything Rod tells you and you can be alright

King can't tackle, soft as they come.

LOL. A third rounder?

Where do you guys get this stuff from?

I see almost EVERYBODY that has been labeled a scout or that HAS been a scout had this guy as 1st Rounder or EARLY 2nd at worst.

On th NFL app one of the scouts had him rated as the 9th best player overall

Well, look on the bright side. If he's a star, he has a ready-made endorsement deal with Taco Bell.

Yeah I'm fine with the pick too..

Has some upside and not much downside.

I hope our next pick is Maliek McDowell and we could put a real end to this DLine being a weakness.

I think it'll be in the secondary man
