Elliott Won Rushing Title But Feels He “Left A Lot Of Yards On The Field”

It took Elliot a few games to get it going.

He probably could've broke the rookie record had he started a little better and got used more down the stretch.

This is absolutely true.

Zeke got better as the season went on, but he wasn't really able to hit home runs very often. His best attribute is his consistency, but he can be and should be better at the second level.

Have no idea why we didn't get Adrian Peterson for what he ended up costing... Would have been a great backup to Zeke.

He probably hit home runs at a higher rate than most backs. The CIN and PIT games in particular come to mind. But he's right: he's a mismatch in the open field, and that's something he can definitely take even more advantage of. Screens and well blocked runs can become regular back breakers. He was talking about it early in the season last year, too, so you know it's something that's actually important to him.

He probably could have. He had a couple of big plays called back for bad reasons, too.

Would have been nice to see, but it doesn't mean anything. Winning games matters. Resting him in week 17 was the right call, too. Too easy to get a RB knicked to use him in a meaningless game. Especially at the rate we used him at all season.

The same mindset that sat Zeke during the season led to the team having a vacation before the playoffs and losing that game because of it.

Our head coach cost us a chance to win a title last year and not enough people seem to care or even realize it.

I'd have fired him the day after the playoff loss.
I couldn't agree more, but that's no secret.

Yup..The unsaid truth for this year....If Garrett flames out again...He's gotta go. IMO nothing less than the NFC championship is gonna save him...

Lol. He's not getting fired for handing the ball off to his star RB 322 times just because some fans stupidly wanted to see that number approaching 400. And he's not getting fired based solely on whether or not he gets to a NFCCG this year. Yes, the team needs to remain competitive and be making progress, but, no, it's not going to come down to something impatient or irrational. Especially something as hard to to as get to a CG.

Like it or not, a lot of people in Dallas are actually very pleased with the direction the organization has taken these last several years. That includes the team owner and his son. It'd take something fairly spectacular to get Garrett fired after this coming season. He's got at least the next two years to be knocking on the door, and rightly so.

I think your giving Garrett way more credit than he deserves...

The playoff burnout is on him...The team wasn't ready to play...that's inexcusable. Getting down 21-3 @ home?? Come on Man!!!

Player suspensions....on him

Poor clock management...on him

All the injuries...are a reflection of how practice is run(soft)...is on him.

The guy has had more than enough shots to show that he can guide the ship....As far as I'm concerned...he better get it done this year. There are no more excuses.

You're delusional.

Elliot would have got over 2000 yards if he was used properly, he barely played the last 2 games...and he should be on the field for every 3rd down, he's tremendous weapon as a receiver...but I don't expect JG to ever change.

All the way BABY :star::starspin::star::star::starspin::star:

You act like it was a touches issue, just in pure numbers.

I don't know about anyone else, I had more of a problem with the situational touches, not the overall volume.

If it was 3rd down and 7 at a crucial point in the game, I wanted Elliott on the field not Dunbar.

It was not just about raw touches. Him getting spelled by Alfred Morris on a garbage down to get a few yards late in the game or even to close out a half is totally different.

You can't run him into the ground, but putting an inferior player into the game at a crucial time as a result of touch management is not smart either.
