Dallas Cowboys – primed for a Super Bowl run? - Sam Monson, PFF
Monson wonders if the Cowboys are ready to take the next step.

Dallas has built through the draft well in recent seasons, and it has begun to bear fruit. They may have been one and done in the playoffs this past year, but it took some Aaron Rodgers magic and one of the greatest games in NFL playoff history for it to happen after an epic comeback by Dallas in the fourth quarter.

The NFL has seen plenty of teams lately make playoff runs and even win championships with unbalanced rosters, but the stronger side of the ball needs to be dominant to make up for the shortcomings of the weaker side. If Dallas can’t get solid play out of their defense, they will need that offense to be at the peak of its powers, but if they can, they suddenly become one of the toughest teams in the game to take out.
The Golden Nugget says a Patriots-Cowboys matchup is the most likely in Super Bowl LII - Ben Fawkes, ESPN
The Golden Nugget in Las Vegas likes the Cowboys and Patriots for the big game.

The most likely Super Bowl matchup is the defending champion New England Patriots facing the Dallas Cowboys at 7-1, followed by the Patriots taking on the Green Bay Packers at 8-1.

In total, the Cowboys show up three times among the top seven most likely matchups:

Haha a little early to talk about us in the Super Bowl.

But, as long as Bill and Brady are in the league, it's hard to bet against the Pats.

Nothing would be better than our young team beating the Patriots dynasty.

Talk of a Super Bowl definitely sounds a bit premature at this point in time. While I'm not inclined to count our chickens before they're hatched, the thought is definitely appealing. Nevertheless, let's see how things go in the regular season before making any of these premature assumptions. Expectations of a Super Bowl visit at this stage of this team's development realistically begs for further indications of their elite validity.

Just a thought here about picking out the superbowl opponent.

Tap the brakes Hell, use both feet on this idea.

1. Win the division (earning a bye is optional, but I'll take it)
2. Win their first playoff game
3. Get to the SB
4. Win SB

#4 is too far down the road for me....hell, #1 is far down the road

Absolutely agree. The perception is that NE will be in the SB every year and they have the best team in the league. Especialy after this off season when it appears they really loaded up for another run at the championship. Knocking them off would validate everything the Cowboys FO has done and Cowboys mania would be non stop again just like it was in the early 90's.

I'm just hoping for at least an NFC Championship game appearance. Beyond that would be icing on the cake to me.

I feel like NE is going to win the AFC pretty easily once again.
