close to middle of the pack which is about right for him
Look at the top 5 coaches listed. Then think about the QB's for those teams. Tell me the QB doesn't make the coach.
John Fox is ranked way too high.
I waffle on Andy Reid. A very good regular season coach who can't close the deal in the playoffs.
Pagano is not the one who acquired the talent and refused to fix the OL. That was on Ryan Grigson who got rightfully canned. I don't see what the problem is where he is ranked. If Garrett is top 15, he is just as deserving of that area. But my real question is... what has Pagano ever done to warrant top-15? The Colts would be nothing without Luck. Chuck a terrible player manager. Their offensive line is awful and their defense has major issues too.
For Garrett to get the respect some think he deserves, getting past one and done in the playoffs more than once in seven years is a first step. However, much like the franchise as a whole, it's time to take that next step and establish ourselves as an NFC power instead of teasing every few years.
Agree, he's a poor mans Bledsoe basically so gotta give Harbaugh some credit working with such a statue @ QB w/a slow delivery. Agree with authors point that making the Raiders relevant and the development of Carr should be of note after being a laughing stock for so long.I would put harbaugh ahead of mike McCarthy and tomlin.
What? I guess the 8-8 rut was not consistent enough for you, huh?Garrett's big test, for me anyway, will be consistency.
The Colts have been nothing WITH Luck.I think he's a little low. I'd make the argument for top ten, especially if we have another good season this year.
But my real question is... what has Pagano ever done to warrant top-15? The Colts would be nothing without Luck. Chuck a terrible player manager. Their offensive line is awful and their defense has major issues too. For their sake I hope Malik Hooker plays well, because that's their biggest hope right now. I watched a lot of Colts games last year, and they seriously have some of the worst play calling in the NFL right now.
Garrett's big test, for me anyway, will be consistency. You have to be able to win your division on a yearly basis, not every 2 or 3 years. And when you have the best record in the NFC, with home field throughout, you CAN'T choke that away. Garrett needs to be a 4 quarter coach, not just a second half coach. A lot of games are won in the first half.....
