Schefter on potential discipline for Elliott

Yikes . . . to me, it sounds like a selfless act that I could easily do without. Thanks for thinking of me. I'm, indeed honored to be chosen for such a selfless act. It just seems like that's "taking the heat" to extremes! And as far as our agreeing to this -- whadda you mean "we," Kemosabe? ;)
Fair enough! :muttley::muttley:

I can't say I blame ya :D

Glazer is loud, arrogant, bombastic, funny, and self-aware. He's like the Joe Rogan of NFL "insiders." And the antithesis to the dweeby, scummy Schefter.

And thing is, unlike Schefter and his spoon fed ESPN "contacts," he (Glazer) really does have inside info and sources. A lot of people do go to him, due to his notoriety. Not just management of clubs but players as well... and he's the only one with the Spygate video.

Glazer romps on lil Schefty, Tyke.

Why do you think Schefter left NFL Network for ESPN? ESPN wanted him for his brand name. NFL Network didn't want to lose him. Instead, NFL Network had to pick up Ian Rapport, who doesn't have anywhere near the contacts and cred Schefter had. ESPN did not make Schefty. Schefty made ESPN, especially since Chris Mortenson has virtually disappeared because of his illness.

Ok, Tyke. You like Schefter, it's well established.

He's a shill, a hack, a goober, but to each their own.

Peace and love, mon frere

It doesn't have anything to do with liking. It has to do with understanding how insiders work and who has better contacts.
I wish we had a poll ranking insiders. I pretty much can guarantee that aside from maybe Peter King, Schefter has the better contacts.

Schefter made ESPN on social media, is that what you mean?

A poll of whom? Zoners? Media? You keep making these hearsay claims that we can in no way support or refute.

Glazer is very much respected in the media amongst his peers. Do you disagree?

Nah, I hate the garbage that Schefter has put out, that you claim ESPN "made" him do.

Got a link for that?

No links. Just dates. Shortly after PFT released the Dez story, Schefter responded. And if you look at the link provided in this thread, he's basically saying that he heard of the story but never reported on it because he couldn't substantiate it. He basically sat on the story. Schefter isn't one who wants to get scooped. So why did he address it? It's because PFT reported it as if it was about to break and ESPN wanted something on it too.
I've been in the newspaper business. I know how certain things work and use my experience to read between the line because it has happened to me.

Poor wording on my part. I meant Schefty is ESPN's inside into the world of football. He has more inside knowledge than all the rest of those commentators. They just understand the game. Schefty understands how to mine sources to get inside scoops. And that's not easy to do.

Ok, Tyke.

I didn't understand that either.

ESPN has always had their little insiders. Schefter gained national notoriety when he joined the network, from his days as a beat reporter.

Schefter worked at NFL Network before he went to ESPN.

Well, we aren't in the inner workings of that stuff.

I know. I also don't care to talk about Adam ******* Schefter any more. There's plenty of posts in here that pointedly demonstrate what I feel of him. I won't waiver. Nothing has been posted to convince me to, otherwise.

With all due respect, Tyke.

Fair enough. You still my crime dawg! :)

I love when someone is considered an "insider"...in other words, "I can't tell you who told me what I am saying, so believe me no matter what..."

ummmm, no

;his whole post on Zeke is an example of why so many would not stop to piss on him if he was laying on the ground on fire.

If he truly had a split set of 'opinions' coming in he would say that. Instead he uses everything he can to puff up HIS opinion Which in the past has been proven wrong as often as right. If he was a really good reporter he would say this
"The sources I have closest to the investigation say this" he did not so I frankly think the MAJORITY of his 'sources' are nowhere near the investigation and are therefore worthless except to puff him up.
