I had no rooting interest in the game and this just wasn't on the level. Then a few years later the Tim Donaghy situation happened. Of course, Donaghy was found to have not fixed games, but has an astounding 80% win percentage on games he bet on by simply talking to refs before the game and gathering what players and teams they were going to give a hard time.

which made it all the worse. I have never seen such a completely rigged fight in history = at least at the Olympic level. Ali/Liston 2 was clearly the worst in the pros.

I was just about 10 when that happened, I didn't remember it. What a robbery. I remember Lewis, jackie Joyner, Moses, Louganis, Retton, Connor, Gaylord and the total US dominance at the Russialess games.

But they were smart enough to not make it so blatant. Ali/Liston 2 was pretty bad. Supposedly the downed Liston was too groggy to get up but if you look at film of the fight he is using one glove to shield his eyes.
