The holier than though types on this board always make me laugh.

First, define "holier than thou" as it relates to people in this thread. Maybe I've missed it, but for the most part, people are basically saying that Zeke needs to watch his behavior in light of the current climate with the NFL and Goodell in specific. How is that being "holier than though"?

Second, do you believe people can be smarter than others, prettier than others, richer than others? And if so, why is it such a strange thing that some people's morality or sense of morality is higher than others? I've never really understood the "holier than though" charge. There ARE some people whose morals are above other people's. Surely, you don't think your morals are on par with a child molester or a rapist do you ?

Serious question.

Please tell me you aren't comparing a bar fight with child molesting.

Assault combined with his other questionable behavior that they deem "detrimental to the league". Read my latest post. I'm not saying I agree with it, just what they'll do. Pure guess, being my pessimistic self.

Roger Robespierre cannot just make crap up (even though he tries hard to do so). There has to be more than just "anonymous guy claims Zeke beat up someone". I swear according to some here, our players are not allowed to defend themselves, go out etc.

...I just wish Eze would grow up to the fact that he has to control himself more....if not then he's gonna hurt someone, hurt himself. or hurt the team....the key word here Zeke is "hurt!"...and that includes $$$...

I'm not saying he's guilty of anything yet but if he did hit someone, and not in self defense, then he messed up and will be punished. As has been stated a thousand times, no one is saying he can't go out (although that would be advisable) we're saying he needs to stop putting himself in questionable situations and he needs to start making better decisions.

It's not that hard. Most of us have been forced to do the same thing at some point in our early lives. I wasn't perfect in my late teens/early twenties but as soon as my career was on the line I immediately changed my ways. No more 6th street, stopped hanging out with certain people, stopped going out as much, couldn't react to certain situations like I wanted to and it still effects my behavior to this day. I've seen someone grab my wife's butt at a concert. Twenty years ago I would have been in jail and would still like to lay the guy out but today we move to another area or leave and tell security.

It's not that hard and I'm not a star for one of the most popular teams on the planet who is already under scrutiny and an investigation from my employer nor do I have the chance to make millions of dollars and retire at 30-35 with no worries for the rest of my life on the line.

Then perhaps it is time for a person in position of authority on this football team to lay it all out there for him.

Let's try this again. When you say someone is "holier than thou" what does that mean? The implication is that no one has more of a moral life than another person. Is this what you believe, i.e., that everyone is on the same plain as it relates to their moral compass?

I'm trying to get an understanding of what you mean by "holier than thou" since you are the first to mention that phrase in this thread.

Thank you.

I never will get it if he gets a suspension for the incident being investigated. As an attorney I know the NFL is a privately run company and can do whatever they want. But that still doesn't make me like the fact that something the police investigated and thought nothing of, is then found punishable by Commish. It is one of many reasons I can't stand Goodall. The guy has screwed up so many situations where he knew he was in the wrong and it is like he keeps doubling down....because he can.

As an aside, this in no way excuses Zeke from putting himself in bad situations. He is a numbskull to say the least. I just despise how the league runs their business. Anyone with a grudge can accuse any player of anything, and even if there is no substance, RG can come down on them.

Goodell has a brand image to protect. Just because Zeke was never cited by the authorities doesn't mean he hasn't tarnished the NFL brand. Bar fights are more than likely covered in the personal conduct policy.

I agree with his constant activity like bar fights. However the current investigation isn't a bar fight. It's a situation where, according to witnesses, he did nothing and the accuser lied to multiple sources. So I'm trying to figure what "hurts the brand" if any accusation means suspension.

As I said Zeke is causing himself trouble and it's on him but for this investigation I don't get it

You're question isn't serious at all. It can't be when you already have your view on this topic cemented already.

If I got punched by someone as popular as Zeke I would be all over social media saying it.

I don't think Zeke is a bad guy. So what if he likes to party it up. He's young, popular and has money to spend.

However, if he did punch someone or he physically abused a women than its his fault. But if he's falsely accused of such thing and people keeps trying to punish him for it, than thats even worst than the crime itself. I'm sticking with Zeke and that he's innocent until proven guilty. Some of you can keep saying bad things all about him all you want and be like the Goddells of this world. The sky isn't falling just because an acorn dropped on your head.

Goodell is doing enough to hurt the brand himself. Tired of hearing about him.
If that is so true then the owners have a way to replace him. He's not King of the NFL, yet he manages to keep his job. Must not be as bad as you seem to think.

Let me put it this way- nothing Zeke has done so far can be classified as horrible. But his pile of little transgressions is growing into a big mess.

The NFL is hardly made up of 1,696 Boy Scouts; but I doubt the league is going to keep letting Zeke get away with all this juvenile garbage (I almost went with an expletive there).

That's not true. You must be hang around the wrong public and players. The owners would not keep him around if he were really that unpopular.

All very valid points. But if there was ever a time for Zeke to lay low, it was now. And he finds himself punching a guy out. I agree, Zeke is not a bad guy. He's a good kid with fame, fortune, and some absolutely horrific judgment skills.

No he is right! Players can't stand him and the public doesn't boo him at the draft for fun. People hate him. Most people I know hate the Pats and even they think he had zero in deflategate. He botched Ray Rice, he botched Brady, he botched the punter case. He is widely regarded as one of the worst commisioners. There is one single reason the owners keep him...the league is making money. The NFLPA has one of the worst collective bargaining agreements in all of sports so RG can be careless and owners don't have to answer to anyone. They make money
