Possibly Bringing Durant Back

If he signs I hope he doesn't make the team ... because Jaylon and the other guys are healthy and push him off.

Well I guess we know what Eberflus and Rod think of our LB's now.

And reliability (Nzeocha).

Exactly.

He's another one for me. I don't care how well you "test", if your body can't hold up to the rigors of the NFL and you can't get and stay on the field, you're of no use to me.

I put him in that same group with Chaz Green, or Lawrence, or Crawford. And guys missing time during the offseason stuff too, like Paea, Looney, Mayowa, and Hanna.

If you're not ready for training camp, or missing time during it, your roster spot on this team is in jeopardy. There are only 16 games in a season to get the job done. If you're not helping the team, you're hurting it.

I know certain guys will get a pass this year, for various reasons, but several of these names need to be put on notice.

Most of them will absolutely will get a pass. The main reason of course is the lack of pressure being applied to them in the form of actual competition.

In some cases, I think there are other options, but let's face it, given his awful contract, Crawford's not going anywhere, no matter what he does or doesn't do. Lawrence will play out the final year of his contract, and Green will probably get another season too, unless he suffers yet another injury.

But I think Paea should be on notice. If you're not out there, you won't be making this team. And I'd have no qualms cutting Nzeocha and Hanna if they're unavailable.

According to Broaddus, there really was never any legitimate interest in Washington. I guess they know what Durant can do and feel more comfortable.

Yes, Durant is a no risk player, Washington would still carry some risk. Durant can be ready for TC knowing the system and what is expected even without the offseason practices.

But he gives us nothing strong-side. If Wilson's out, we're looking at Wilber and maybe Nzeocha. Slim pickins.

correct. Garrett operates 99% out of comfort. Washington might be the better player but they don't care. Durant knows where the bathrooms, meeting room are and knows when Garrett gives his half time speech to try to look compelled.

Exactly, but if you don't give him a big signing bonus there is no cap hit if you cut him after training camp but before the season starts. Its a free look in training camp.

Last year he played for 965K with a signing bonus of 80K. On the same contract it would only cost 80K to cut him if he doesn't make the 53.

I think their money is guaranteed. i don't remember the Rule of 51 or if if still applies nor if it applies to a vested veteran but I think he gets his salary. However a 1M contract doesn't break the bank.

I thought he would retire this year but this move is anticipating a 4 game ban.

#championship! :lmao:

Yes because every single roster you make has the idea that the player will bring home a championship and will turn around the team. But please continue with this lame joke every time there is a roster move.

Why not bring in Daryl Washington? Does he want too much? At least to give him a try out

That's my feeling. From what I've read, Arizona was willing to give him another chance for vet minimum and he declined, so it sounds like he's looking for more money than that.
