This is absolutely one of the worst takes on this whole mess.

But there will be a lot more just like it. "Lucky Whitehead" is trending on Twitter in a big way. The cries of "justice for Lucky" have already begun.

I would like her to answer who is being allowed to stay on the team that has been convicted of domestic abuse

Garrett was under tremendous pressure to do something so he did something. Now the same people who criticized him for being soft are laughing at him for taking a hard stance. To the people who are saying the Cowboys should've waited, look at the comments on here yesterday. The Cowboys are damned if they do and damned if they don't. I feel bad for Lucky, but I don't blame Garrett for cutting him if it's true he has a history of mess ups.

What an awkward situation all the way around.

Funny thing is most of these people don't even know who Lucky is. They only care about him now because A. hes a cowboy and B. he has some kind of alleged legal problems.

That's ratings and material for them.

He was cut for his performance...the distractions(missing meetings, dog kidnapping, ext) just made it happen sooner.

Doesn't change the end result, this may in fact help him if he gets picked up by someone. He could spend training camp with us and get cut or he could go somewhere and actually have a shot to make the roster and to learn the system in a full training camp.

This off season.....holy hell.

Let me get this straight, he was cut due to all his past transgressions, and this was the timing they decided to cut him? So why didn't they cut him last year or before yesterday or when those incidents were occurring? Sounds like that was either indecisiveness or just plain lackadaisical attitude on their part, either way it looks bad now. ;) Can't shine this one up and blaming the media is laughable the front office has to do the proper investigation or even if they were going to cut him later it makes them look bad for not taking action before or letting Switzer beat him out.

Wait but this doesn't fit into ESPN and CZ's narrative of the "troubled" and "undisciplined" Cowboys??

Media and PR pressure got him cut, but they'll spin this to being Dallas' fault.

The entire press conference yesterday was the media grilling the team on why they haven't made a statement by disciplining anyone for off the field news.

Now they'll act like they're innocent in all of this and blame Garrett for simply doing what he was being pressured to do by them.

If anything, this should be a lesson for everyone to not act solely on PR pressure... and the media to quit pushing narratives on allegations that have not been proven. You can thank hot take social media for that, this is what journalism has become. No logic anymore, just PR response.

training camp is long and injuries happen. Best case we hope Lucky would get beat out by the rookie. Although strange things happen. I think Lucky is just a guy and one of thousands who stick around for a few years and then just disappear. Although if he was your 6th best WR heading into camp, it sucks to lose him. It just looks bad for Dallas.

I thought when he missed the plane/bus last year and was suspended for a game that his ticket was written. Although he was back to compete for the last WR spot. Unless there is more to the story it looks like a bungling.

So now all the furious and impatient fans who always call for cutting guys before having all the facts, the same fans who wanted Lucky cut right away, will now attack the coach and front office for acting too quickly, even though Lucky wasn't going to make the team anyway.

1. This will actually work out for the player as he has a better chance of being picked up while rosters are huge than after cutdowns.

2. His teammates who called him friend will definitely question his being cut "unfairly."

3. Fickle fans who are never happy with anything have more to complain about regarding a player that brings very little to the table.

Yea but them reporters are going to be all over this lol his face is going to be sooo red lol

We'll see.

I think it was the worst-kept secret in camp that Lucky was going to get cut going back to the end of last season. All we lost was an insurance policy if we lose a returner to injury. And I don't think anybody in the organization is going to be upset that we cut Lucky at this juncture just because the fact came out that he didn't do it. Lucky's lifestyle has been a distraction for his football career for a while now. I feel bad for the guy in this case that the tipping point came over something he wasn't directly involved with, but I also wouldn't be shocked when all the dust settles to find out that whoever provided his info to the police was related to him in some not-so-oblique way, anyway.

Either way, he's gone now. It's an object lesson to the other players. Don't be a fringe player and a distraction, *******es. Now, I hope, we can just get back to training camp and to improving this defense.

Identify theft happens all the time. The crooks even start opening other lines of credit with your info. How is this possible? They already got all your info. That's why companies like lifelock started opening up
