I think it had something to do with his dog being stolen from his house that his friend was watching and is being held for ransom and the friend doesn't know where the dog is (you can stop me here if you like) but really, Lucky thinks the friend is up to no good and is the real perp who stole his dog and made up this entire story so he could get money from Lucky because he plays for the Cowboys but now the gig is up cuz Lucky was fired by the Cowboys and friend is watching another NFL player's house who has a cat and rumors has it the cat never came back home and....
