We ran the ball fine game 2.

I was at the stadium and many Giant fans were nervous halftime because Zeke was running so well and then we got away from it.

that has been a garret trait since he came here. We run the ball well then he gets cute and we lose. does not matter who is the OC that has happened again and again.

Garrett is in control not Linnehan. He's the HEAD coach

You are right so when this team is winning have the guts to credit Garrett. Last season no one gave Dallas a chance in hell including many here yet Dallas exceeded all expectation and what has been the response? Oh Linehan was the reason or some other person was to be credited. I mean come on you guys blast Garrett yet he not only meant expectation he and this team and this staff well exceeded all expectation.

First game against the Giants:

We had too many field goals. I believe that we got too predictable in the red zone and weren't aggressive enough in trying to score.
Lastly, Williams should have gone out of bounds of course. Thats his fault.
All in all, the Giants didn't beat us. We beat ourselves and we had every chance to win.
I blame the coaches on this one. They seem to get too conservative in the redzone. Plus this was Prescott's and Elliott's first real NFL game.

Second game against the Giants:

Bad night for Prescott which is probably his worst game of the season. I think this has to do with him trying to force the ball to Bryant and get him going. This game I wish they would have played a spread offense and force the Giant's to defend the entire field. Yet it seems we went to much max protection instead.

I feel the weather also contributed heavily to the lost. If thats the case, we should have ran the ball more. Elliott had a good game. But yet we kept trying to pass the ball running deep routes which I felt was the worst way to beat the Giants defense.

I blame this game on Prescott. But you can't really blame him. I also blame it on Dez. It seems he wanted the ball. Instead we should have just relied on the run more and the short and quick passes.

Most of all, the blame goes towards the coaches in both losses. We were moving the ball and we let the momentum slips thru fingertips. There is no excuse for that.

Lastly, I want to end that the Giants do not have our number. They are not the better team. We should not have lost both games and they do not have a formula in knowing how to beat us. What they have is better coaching. I hope and pray that this season we can give them a beating that they deserve. Because they are losers.

The problem when you are playing a good defense is that you can't afford to make many mistakes. The Giants were too good on defense for us to not be running on all cylinders in those games.

I don't like claiming that we beat ourselves because it takes away from the fact that New York's defense forced us into situations that we didn't handle well offensively. If the Giants' defense had been worse that wouldn't happen.

This year, if we're going to beat them then our offense can't afford to be off even a little. That's one reason that I hate the possibility that we will be missing Zeke and possibly four defenders.

The thing the Giants could do against us is clog the middle with Harrison and Hankins.

As you said.. Coaching is a weakness for us but that's nothing new. Our talent is pretty good and we can get away with it most of the time.

Someone just needs to pop Odell at the start of the game. That kid is so soft.

I know it just preseason, but their offense seriously looked terrible last night. Flowers is going to make our edge guys look elite. They'll go with the no-huddle quick passing game, so LBs will need to be on point.

The defense looks disruptive, but I think our boys are ready for some revenge.

I believe the coaches will have a better handle on how to matchup with them this season:

His name is Ryan Switzer lol. He and Beasley in the slot will put the Giants in a tough spot when we go 4 wide.

They love going one on one against our WRs-- but they just don't have the depth to take all of our weapons away.

Short to intermediate passes will back off their aggressiveness against the run.
In a shoot out, which it very well might be, but if Dallas can bring some D, some sort of a pass rush week 1, we will manhandle the Vagiants.
They have no OL,, they drafted a TE that doesn't block, instead of addressing a pressing need.
You cant survive in this league, this Division, doing that.
The Giants OL is their Achilles heel, expose it and you beat them.

That second game against the Giants is the only game that I've felt in his entire career that Dez Bryant mailed it in. He just looked cold and disinterested.

Cowboys have been the best team in the nfl at beating themselves for many many years now!

That is what happens when the head coach is a puppet who literally does nothing except for mismanage the clock every 3-4 games.

Both games against the Giants lacked any type of creativity. As the op said, those long drawn out routes were an awful way to go about it.

I don't really blame Linehan as much as Garrett

13-3.

We rarely beat ourselves, but when we do lose, fans who ought to know better blame it on coaching reflexively, anyway. For example, blaming a lack of creativity in the red zone which may or may not actually have existed on a coach or play called without acknowledging it was the first start ever for a rookie 4th round pick who didn't even get the lion's share of snaps in camp.

You know....just not thinking things through before firing off a brain dead knee jerk criticism that doesn't hold water.

We did a poor job of using Dez in the first game. 23 out of 29 routes were go routes and Dak wasn't on point that game with the deep pass. Also remember that EE had some adjusting to do with zone running.

I'm assuming that the Giants will stay with the Cover 5 and we'll attack with more 10 personnel and have EE be the extra person to block. If EE is out (I think his suspension will be delayed) then that throws a bit of a monkey wrench into the plans because EE is a far better pass protector than the rest of the RB's on the team. We may still go with 10 personnel, but by the looks of our preseason game against the Colts, we may go no huddle-hurry up to get the Giants out of blitzing and get us and keep us in favorable matchups.

I think it more likley a defensive game, low scoring, like the games we played against them last year.
I think we cracked that egg, and this team is like... really pissed. The Zeke suspension while a major negative, on the flip side, really generated a lot of locker room, pissed off angst, that is becoming very prevalent on how its transcending of play on the field.
I honestly feel that this team has more compassion than Ive seen in years,, its a talent laden team, but now really pissed about the suspensions,, players with a lot of motivation to punch you in the face,, I'm good with that,,, that's what I'm seeing,,, Giants players don't deal with our issues, they have Mara the senator representing them, they go to practice everday with that back rub,, Cowboys are a very pissed off locker room,,, but they are using the anger to get to a much higher place. I spoke to David Wells on Sunday, and that's why I'm posting this here,,
guys like Witten, team leaders are voicing this every day at practice, to other players, not the media, and there is an attitude in every day practice, and it is transcending on game day.

I think in that game in NY, they tried that...let's pass the ball, get a lead in the bad weather, then run it down their throats.
But it did n0t work, as they should have just tried to stick to their basic plan which had been working. They got ahead of themselves and tried to be a little cute.
