Fun Thought: What If The Cowboys Ignore A Suspension?

Citing the 4PM deadline - lets say Zeke is still suspended.

What would the league do if the Cowboys suited Zeke up and trotted him out on the field on Sunday night?

Intense fines, forfeit of draft picks, etc. What could possibly go wrong?

Now that's an alpha male move. I love it!!

Zeke would be escorted off the field (similar to how they do when someone is thrown out of a game). Then the game would be played. Then there would probably be fines and suspensions.

Cowboys?

A heavy fine, loss of draft picks, and a year ban on Zeke Elliott...

he would not be permitted to play and could not ignore the suspension

Why are the cowboys more important than the other 31 teams?

It would be the ultimate spoiled kid move and even more embarrassing than the suspensions themselves.

Elliott could play two plays. Receive two personal fouls then be ejected. After that, the NFL would throw the book at us.

The officials would declare a forfeit and the league would award the Giants the win.

It was addressed when the Pats threatened to play Brady anyway in 2015.

The league would simply instruct the refs to not start the game until Elliot is removed from the field.

The Giants would file a protest and be awarded the victory. Although I'm sure Mara and his cronies are going to do that with the referees anyway.

Technically an ineligible player is escorted off the field. Repeated attempts would involve personal fouls against the coach. If they persisted the ref could either stop the game indefinitely (what I'd do) or he could forfeit which is unlikely. The league would be contacted and tell the refs what they wanted anyway.

I would guess you would be given a loss regardless of the outcome???
