Let's pump the brakes on Garret being great. He has went from terrible to decent in my opinion. He has played a role in making this roster much much better. You can disagree on how much influence he has there but the fact remains it has happened on his watch.

I still fault his game day coaching decisions and he's not without criticism in regards to the roster. For example, how is kellen Moore still this teams backup QB when he was outplayed and outclassed in training camp by Cooper Rush?

Jason has improved the team since Wade left but his game management skills are below average.

He needs to win a Super Bowl.

As of right now he is on the path of becoming another Marty Schottenheimer.

Except Scottenheimer's teams were known for running the ball too much and being defensive minded.

Marty ball was about being behind the times.

Garrett is none of those things.

I could just as easily call him Tom Landry who had one playoff win in his first 10 years.

Yes Marty ran the ball more and had good defenses; however, he came up short when it counted the most and Jason seems to be taking a similar path.

surely that's because of Garrett

just like the Rangers. Banister won manager of the year when they were playing well last year. this year anyone that watches them can tell you he is a moron.
he was the head coach the coach takes the blame and the credit . COTY

Since the start of 2014, the Cowboys are now an amazing 29-6 in the regular season when either Tony Romo or Dak Prescott has started a game with the intention of finishing it. In 2014, Romo went 12-3, with Brandon Weeden going 0-1 in the lone game Romo missed; a loss to Arizona.

Coincidentally this all happened right after Garrett was stripped of play calling duties.

As I said he's taking a more similar path to Landry.

Marty made it to the AFCCG twice and was a Byner fumble from winning one in his first few years.

I don't see it that way as far as Landry is concern but if Jason wins the big one I'll be the first one to tell you that I was completely wrong. As I noted in my first post on this thread he has improved the team. However, I need Jason to improve in other areas as a coach.

Landry had one playoff win in his first ten years.

I get the impression the improvement you are looking for has nothing to do with skill and everything to do with a playoff run.

Color me shocked. It's written by one of the writers from BTB. (I don't keep up. Maybe he left for another site. But same homer morons that will spin anything pro Cowboys)
Pretty easy to 'spin' a Cowboys win into a pro Cowboys story.

My opinion isn't changed by anything KD Drummond says on the topic, but the proof is in the wins and losses. Sooner or later everybody's going to have to come around on this one.
You are what your record says you are....until that means giving JG props....

Hey man. I remember when the bar was "he can't even win a playoff game." Now people are talking championships. I'll take it.

1st and goal at the 3-yard line. You ask the equipment guy to please plug your headset in, just this one time, so that you can call upstairs for permission to ask the guy that replaced you in your only coaching capacity, to please let your best-in-the-NFL offensive line and running back, punch it in. That's what great coaches do.

When we finally put Garrett into the situation that he excels at and not a dual OC/HC, then he is really doing a great job. Garrett is not a technician. He's great at setting up the atmosphere and getting the guys to play hard. I went in on Garrett earlier, but he's found his stride.
