Does any coach punt from the opponent's side more than Garrett?

It sure feels like Garrett punts a ton from the opposition's side of the field, and Sunday night was certainly no exception. We punted four times from Giants territory out of nine total drives. Those fourth downs:

• 4th and 3 from the Giants 43
• 4th and 2 from the Giants 44
• 4th and 7 from the Giants 42
• 4th and 20 from the Giants 42

The last drive is definitely a punting situation. I'm not sure what the numbers say about the 4th and 7, but I'd go for that with our offense. The first two should be automatic go for it situations unless there is a compelling game situation, which there was not at those points.

I think pinning the Giants down around their own 10 was the right thing to do. Why risk giving up great starting field position to the Giants? If we are trailing I would be more inclined to take the risk

So what do you want him to do? If you are asking that they should of went for some of them, Idk too risky and changes the field position if you don't get the first down. If you wanted them to kick a Fg, your asking Bailey to try a 60, 61,59, 59 yard field goals. I think that Garrett played it right pinning them deep and knowing they couldn't move the ball. In other games if that D can't stop an Offense then situation is different.

On of the biggest reason the Giants only scored 3 points was because the Giants had to go 90 yards most of the time. And they didn't have the offensive game to do it.

If you think you are going to be in a shootout, the coach needs to be more aggressive. In this case, playing the field position game was the way to go.

Analytics isn't the answer to everything. Game situations and strategy matters.

Now if we had a crappy punter who constantly was booting into the endzone, then that would be really frustrating.
Garrett protected our defense, played ball control and field position.
Put it this way...going for it on the 44 and not getting it is very much like throwing an interception.

Those were correct decisions by Garrett

Our defense was playing lights out and Giants were having difficulty moving the ball and we have a great punter who pinned them back every time

In that situation in a low scoring game the last thing you want it to give up field position and give the Giants life

They were dominating defensively, no reason to give a struggling team a short field.

Our defense was playing lights out before it had taken the field for the first of those 4th down decisions? Individual outcomes don't justify long-term strategy. Garrett didn't pay a price for these decisions Sunday, but he has at other times and will in the future.

BS those are overall league numbers bad defense and great defenses combined. You go up against a top defense on 4th and they will not give it up the majority of the time. It is stupid trying to hand the game to the other team.

Obviously the game situation always dictates the decision. When you are facing a team with a good defense and a suspect offense, you are probably more likely to punt there. Against a team with a porous defense or a high powered offense, those may be go for situations.

I tend to think we played it right given the game situation.

It all depends on the situation how the game is unfolding. Giants proved they could not move the ball at all so I did not have an issue pinning them deep. And our punter was doing a great job doing just that.

I've seen Garrett grow a pair and go for it with the game on the line. First that comes to mind was a 4th and 6 just into Lions territory in the 2014 playoff game. And we hit Witten down the middle. End up scoring the go ahead TD some plays later.

Next was the 4th and really short against the Eagles last year in OT. Dak sneaks for the 1st and we go on to win.
