They billed this as a parody type show.

It isn't at all. I'm glad it isn't, but man were the trailers misleading.

I enjoyed it but it definitely wasn't the zany comedy the commercials portrayed it to be.
They blew up the enemy ship with a big tree so that was a little funny ?
Probably better than what that new Star Trek on CBS pay channel will be

Oh, that was funny.

It was a good character introduction episode (something FOX should have done with Firefly years ago). Got solid ratings for the premiere going against SNF. Hopefully it can hold it's audience. I don't want to see another show I give a chance and like get canned in a season or less. Powerless.... :(

I want to see the new Star Trek show but I've got something CBS can kiss if they think I'm gonna add another paid service to my current monthly entertainment budget.

Did you ever see the Star Trek Continues series that is free online just Google that name and you can find it.
there was pretty good but CBS has some new rules that shut it down I think because they have this new show come on and yeah it's a shame they want people to pay for it if Orville had good ratings to begin with it will probably last more than one season unless the ratings just really take . A dive

I actually liked it quite a bit more than I thought I would. I liked the interactions between the characters. They came across as a group of friends who liked to rib each other and not take everything too seriously, but handled business when needed. I thought the weakest aspects of the show were story of the mission, and the action which didn't seem to have much of a logical flow.

No, I have not watched it. Read about just not had the chance to sit down with it.

I watched it last night. I thought it was fun. I like how they poked fun of people's goofy insecurities. Star Trek needs some competition.

I didn't realize Scott Grimes was in it, the guy from the show ER. My first trip to Cali(2007), I was at a Target in LA and as I turned a corner, I bumped into him. First thing I said was "Archie!" He kind of laughed and said he gets that all the time cus no one knows his real name

I can never remember his name so when I see him in something I think of his character Malarky from band of brothers.

I saw it tonight show about the dim getting put in the zoo and that was a pretty good show better than the first one it's just a shame if they had made this more of the serious drama that could be outstanding chill as it is still pretty good

OK, I've given it two episodes. That's enough for me. Not good enough to be a quality SciFi series and not funny enough to keep me laughing. Moving on......

It's not been good enough that I HAVE to watch it....but it has not been bad enough where I give up on it either.

If something came on in the same time slot that piqued my interest I could easily see myself switching to watch it over the Orville.

Seth McFarlane is talented, but his comedy is becoming a relic-- going the way of Mike Meyers/Austin Powers craze.

In the early 2000s, it was more original and surprising (or maybe I was just younger).

Anyway, I'll give it a shot, but I just don't think he's the guy to execute this type of show.

Unfortunately, that means when this show fails (as it likely will) we won't see this concept again for at least a decade, despite its potential.

I can relate, as I feel the same way about Marlon Wayans in Marlon, the sitcom running right now.

I was a huge fan of the Wayans family and style of comedy but it feels dated and not as funny as it was in the 90s like I remember. Their movies haven't been as good either.

Watched episode 2 last night. I liked it. Definitely more of a dramedy show so far to me.

I liked episode 2, as well. My wife likes it, for some reason.

I like it, nice to see a different type of show that is just fun and without all the political agendas.

The show seems to wander uncertain of what it is. As a result too many jokes fall flat and seem forced. Serious situations are impossible to take seriously.

I get that sense from the actors where they are not sure how to pull off scenes. I want to like it so I am going to give it time to gel but I am much more stoked for Discovery coming out this week.
