When was the Denver's 1st punt?
The 2nd half, or even 4th quarter?

The good thing is their front 7 aren't near as good as the Broncos.

Exactly. How many teams have an elite secondary and front 7? Team came with their usual game plan, that’s been (and will be) effective against 90 pct of the league, and ran into the outlier unprepared. It was brutal, but will be an anomaly

Lol. The tweet says 'without Zeke being able to run the ball'. He couldn't run the ball because we never gave him that chance!! We went 5 wides for the entire 1st half for crying out loud!

The funny thing is, I said before the game. How good would Dak be without Zeke? rofl Now we know!

I didn't watch the game, (still boycotting then NFL) but from what I can tell from afar. It sure looks like Carrot Top got severely out coached.

He did. By a rookie coach that looks like he is 25 years old.

Cowboy fans are hilarious. Garrett never blames anyone player. So it's good Dak gets to take a little blame. He played crappy. So let's rip a coach who's like 29-6 the last couple years with either Dak or Romo at QB. Yeah, all his fault.

I'll give Dak a mulligan on that game. It was due. It's a good learning experience. Denver was on point in every facet of the game. God forbid anyone criticize Dak. Every post I've seen has gone out of their way not to say a negative thing about the QB play. Here's my critic of Dak.

First, he was in a bad situation because the defense had no answer for Denver's game plan so Dak was running up a downhill escalator from the first snap.
1) Dak predetermines were he's going with a lot of his passes. It's one thing to throw it up and let Dez battle for it, but Dak was throwing it right at guys who were totally covered. That pick 6 was thrown in the worst place he could put it.
2) He's indecisive. Several times he would hold the ball and start moving to his right. Von's side of the field. And he seems to not sense Von being close to him at all.
3) He's not accurate. Overthrew Dez, Overthrew a wide open Beasley on a play the Bease could have gained significant yardage. Even on the pass to Witten for the TD, he almost overthrew him. Tight windows are not his friend.

Hopefully this isn't going to be a trend. He didn't look very good against NY either.

After the Cowboys first loss of the season, head coach Jason Garrett placed the blame squarely the passing game.

There were more than a few things that could be pointed to as reasons why the Cowboys were not victorious. Garrett took aim at Prescott.

Jason Garrett put the blame squarely on Dak Prescott's inability to make plays in the passing game

It has been noted on several occasions Prescott is cautious with the ball, often preferring to take the safe option over making a risky throw down the field. However, the approach helped Prescott to a stellar rookie season and Pro Bowl nod last year. And, Dallas was 13-3 during the regular season in games he started.

JG knows his players better than any of us. Maybe he thinks Dak needs a public kick in the pants to take the next step?

Last year was a bit of a magic carpet ride for Dak (and Zeke). They're facing some adversity now. It's time to grow up and show up next week in Arizona.

this team was never a superbowl contender to start In with they don't have the coaching or the defense for that they lose to the good teams and beat the bad teams most time

The great thing about a loss is that all the dormant agendas return to the message boards... /sarcasm

Bottom line, Dak needs to improve on his skill set and decision making against tough secondaries. Throwing into tighter windows and taking less-safe throws are sometimes necessary when you're faced with losing otherwise. Good news is that he's still a developing young QB who can get better.

I do not like BB personally but as a coach he is the best. Contrast his statements after getting worked by KC with Red Balls. That is why one is a first ballot HOF coach and one is never going to sniff canton. Now I will say flat out that Garret is about as good as we can get as long as Jerry has any real say. Whoever is the HC has to be able to handle Jerry and that list is PRETTY SHORT.

He SHOULD have said

"My staff and I did not have this team ready to play and prepared for a very hard game. THAT is on us. But very few of our players played like they have the ability to play. This loss is on ALL OF US."

Sorry Jason, it was the gameplan. COMPLETELY horrible. Let's start with the fact that Denver is really talented defensively. They smother you with their corners and unleash Miller. We fell behind and played completely into their strengths. FOUR RUSHING ATTEMPTS in a half is completely unacceptable. Dak is a great play action QB, yet we left him exposed in empty too often. Further we didn't use the threat of the run and the play action game at all. The Denver offensive gameplan was masterful and they kept us off balance all game. Multiple run sets, play action which got Simien settled and in rhythm. We were far too predictable and didn't play our strengths well. Complete team loss and badly OUTCOACHED Garrett and Linehan.

LOL, Cowboys nation in full blown melt down this morning.

Did the Pats fans react like this after week 1? They bounced back in week 2 like the champs they are. Are the Cowboys capable of bouncing back like that? Asking Cowboys nation that question this morning the obvious answer is no.

This really will show something about Red Ball. How will the team play next week is SQUARELY on his shoulders.

Dak had a bad game. I agree with everything you say here. He really has no chance from the get go. I gotta add that guys like Witten can't drop that TD Pass, Dez can't drop the perfectly thrown ball that ended up as an INT, Witten can't false start at crucial moments, Tyron can't false start at crucial moments and JG can't abandon the run that quickly. The whole team sucked. I thought Collins actually played OK. And Dak needs to tuck and run a bit more. There were times where it seemed like he has some serious daylight

We would have lost even if we had Romo, the secondary was that bad.If we don't improve we are losing against the Cards.

Yeh so MSN and Clarence Hill both came up with the same conclusion just to troll JG. They risked their jobs/reputation and made this stuff up just to make conspiracy theorist nuts like you happy.

Here's the actual quote.

"When they play that style of defense, you have to be able to consistently attack with the passing game,” Garrett said, via the Dallas Morning News. “At different times today, I thought we were able to do that, and at other times we weren’t. We didn’t make the plays, for whatever reason. We really needed to have [consistent] success throwing the ball. We were not able to do that.”

If you think that is throwing a player under a bus then I really can't help you

Garrett back to throwing guys under the bus..

This is the same guy who went totally conservative dunk and dunk when Romo got injured in pre-season in 2015 and tried getting guys like Cassell and other veterans..
