Passive aggressive hateing on Dak is all this is about. Dak did in his first year what Romo did in his best year, only better. How can we miss Romo when we have better?
You keep telling yourself that.

Everyone knows the torch had to be passed at a point soon. But comparisons are inevitable. Romo had his share of critics. Dak's turn now.

I do miss Tony he was fun to watch, but the players coaches and owners chose to go with that and let Tony go so now here we are we just have to live with that decision now .
hopefully they will play better as the season goes on. It does seem that both him and Zeke are both one-season wonders at this point but it was just one bad game so hopefully they'll be back in form next week.

The usual mouth breathing crowd will say they don't miss Romo because he never won anything, then turn around in the same breath and blame the defense for holding Dak back. As if the same defense didn't hold Romo back? Lol its hilarious when their bias shines through.
Dak's in his second year. Tony had a decade. Tony was a very exciting QB to watch but in the end 2 playoff wins. Won't miss that and yes I know it wasn't all his fault. What I miss is playoff success.

Did Tony ever officially retire? Wonder what his deal with CBS if Jerry ever gave him the call? Not that I see that happening
By all accounts he's got a pretty sweet deal for the next 20 years doing color and getting away from the wife and kids

Well unless the defense steps up Dak will suffer the same fate. Cause he isn't even as good as Romo and even Romo couldn't lift this sorry defense up

Fox broadcaster and former Cowboy quarterback Troy Aikman suggested at one point that Dallas could be missing their old quarterback, Tony Romo, who was notorious for his big-play ability.

While it’s just the second game of the season, Prescott’s play continued a trend from last season–smart, yet conservative quarterback play. Cowboys’ head coach Jason Garrett also seemed to agree with Aikman’s notion.

“When they play that style of defense, you have to be able to consistently attack with the passing game,” Garrett said, via the Dallas Morning News. “At different times today, I thought we were able to do that, and at other times we weren’t. We didn’t make the plays, for whatever reason. We really needed to have [consistent] success throwing the ball. We were not able to do that.”

I miss Romo. I'll admit it.

I don't miss him because I think the Broncos game "exposed" Dak. I don't miss him because I think Prescott is going to fail as a QB. I don't miss him because I think we can't win without him.

I miss him because I enjoyed watching him play. I enjoyed watching him Houdini defensive linemen to make a seemingly impossible play. I miss him because it didn't seem like we were ever out of a game with him at quarterback (even if his mistakes at times contributed to the need for a comeback). I miss him because he kept me on the edge of my seat.

Dak's play doesn't bring that same level of thrill for me yet. Maybe when he takes off running, but certainly not as a passer. His style of play may prove to ultimately be more successful as far as competing for titles goes, and I can certainly live with that since it's the ultimate goal.

But I'm not going to pretend that I wouldn't still rather have Romo at quarterback right now if he was healthy enough to play. Prescott can quell that desire if he can accomplish what Romo wasn't able to do with this team. I'll be surprised if he can, though, as long as this defense remains average at best.

Of course they do. Anyone who says otherwise just blindly dislikes Romo. They miss him on the field and, possibly, on the sideline. I have to wonder how much Tony helped Dak read defenses, pinpoint weaknesses, etc, throughout each game.

However the the Romo era is over. People need to move on. Prescott showed enough last year to prove that there's plenty of talent there. But we don't know if he's going to be great - yet.

Coming from a huge Romo fan, that era is over and it is time to turn the page. We are rolling with Dak for better or worse and that will not be sufficiently answered for another season or two.

I loved Romo too, but a healthy Romo would have thrown 3 picks and had 2 fumbles in that game. Probably would have scored more points. The older Romo would have been in the hospital.

And what did Romo accomplish with this team? A playoff win? They are two different types of QB's. Dak more of the game manager/leader, Romo more of the gun slinger.

LOL at you guys with your face palms and your "just move on" BS.

You know you LOVE these threads and getting yet another chance to both dog Romo and to feed your fragile egos.

Against elite defenses, Romo would take more chances, score more points, and make more mistakes. But he still made fewer mistakes than most.

Those days are gone, and an experienced elite QB is no longer an option. But we've still got a young QB who is very, very good against all but elite defenses, and who will eventually get better against even them.

In the meantime, the All-Pro's on this team need to pick up the slack.

And we still need to put together a defense, or we still aren't going deep into the playoffs.

Being a huge Romo fan and understanding that it's time to move on are not mutually exclusive. I feel very strongly about both.

Do Cowboys fans miss Aikman? Sure. What in the world is the point in even discussing it? It's over and done with.

Romo was a Dez Bryant drop from being in the NFC championship game. Although the defense still probably would've let Aaron Rodgers March down the field on one leg

Do you need a hug, little buddy? You sound bitter about all those years that Romo blew games when they counted.

Find one post in my history that dogs Romo. I got all month to wait :D

I thought he should have got his job back last season when healthy. I also think he is much better than Dak and probably had another season or two left in him as long as he could stay on the field which is another question in itself.

But, the team has moved on and the rest of the fans should too as much as it hurts to see him go.
