Emmitt Smith - A Football Life Trailer - NFL Network

FYI, I just went into my DVR to record this, and it airs tonight at 9 pm Eastern, not 7pm. It is followed immediately after, by the Troy Aikman "A Football Life" at 10 pm Eastern.

Yep he was, had to be tough for him during the late 90s. Ive watched the bit with him getting on the coaches and players on the sideline over and over.
Me too. Didn't know these facts at the time. His " disappointment" in Switzer was justified and only increased my respect for Troy. He was/is a good man that realized his place in football history. The Cowboys are seriously lacking that perspective now and in recent years.

I don't consider Zeke in the same spectrum as Emmitt He is far from it. Emmitt had heart, grit, durability everything you need in a running back I just don't see it in Zeke this past Sunday proved that. You can say he's young but when Emmitt was young he was not like Zeke. Emmitt one of a kind. yes I don't like Ezekiel.

The big difference, Emmitt was always doubted and shown little respect for all he accomplished at every level, and it stoked a raging fire in his heart and mind to be absolutely successful. Zeke has been coddled, praised, and downright worshipped for all he has done. He has been enabled by all around him for years.

Zeke will never be on or eclipse the level of Emmitt as long as he lives and plays with his current mentality.

Love how emmitt retooled to bring called great. I haven't done anything yet. I'm not up with Payton, dorsett, Dickerson. Thats three mentality. People throw around the word great too easily.

This was a phenomenal episode. Just amazing. Maybe top-3 for me, and I've seen them all.

Emmitt is the GOAT. The way he patiently navigated his way through the mass of body's, both at the line, and at the second level.

Everyone talks about La'veon Bell and his patience (and rightfully so). But he wishes he had the patience Emmitt desplayed before he exploded up field. It's not even close. Emmitt pats Bell on his head and says "atta boy, little one"

GOAT

Troy Aikman football life comes on right after emmitt
Troy's "AFL" was really good, too. Much more somber than 22's. But essential viewing for one of the GOAT QBs. Our phenom QB.
