Yeah he did pretty well with Hardy taking up the blocks on the other side. So I will give him that he made the most of his situation that year.

I wouldn't pay him a huge contract. Not when he's had one pretty good year, and even if he has a great year this year. I don't think he's stayed healthy enough or shown nearly enough to get a huge deal.
I understand what you're saying to a point. If he plays like this all season I would DEFINITELY franchise tag him though. If he stays healthy and performs well after that (being franchised), then I would sign him long-term. My main and only concern is his health. I don't believe he is just a contract year performer, because he has performed at a high level before *when healthy* and he is at the age and point in his career where DEs start to put it all together.

If you franchise him, just say you want to see him on another team, because some bottom feeder is going to offer him obscene money. Just sign him now and get it over with.

Yep. Now you are talking. Thats exactly what a smart club would do.

Depends on the deal you can get with him.

If he wants to be paid like a top 5 guy?

Nope...

If you can get what you feel is a bargain? Yes...

Everyone wanted Nick Perry after a great contract year in GB...he resigned with GB which could turn out to be a bargain long term.

I haven't read one post in this thread (full disclosure) but based on the title I think it's waaaaaay to premature to even ask the question.

Our O has looked less impressive then a lot of people thought because we have faced 2-3 of the top defenses in the NFL. On the flip side, the D (Lawrence included) has looked better than expected because we have literally faced 2 of the top 4-5 worst O lines in the game right now.

I'm not saying he won't pan out and be great but I am saying I would wait until the end of the season to see how he does.
