Why is the NFL committing suicide?

Who said that Kaep was an expert? That doesn't make him wrong.

I have pointed out where he has discussed the systemic issue related to police violence. He talked about paid leave. It relates to Rice and the rest. I showed you from where that came in LEBOR laws. You want no part of that.

I suggest you read MLK's Letters from the Birmingham Jail.

Pathetic.

I don't think this whole affair will destroy the NFL but it has a very good chance to damage it for a long time. The NFL is too big to be destroyed quickly by anything but you add this to the concussion issue with many parents not letting their kids play football anymore and the future looks cloudy at best. Personally, this weekend killed the NFL for me. I said NFL, not the Cowboys. For the time being, I will still watch and support my team because they have yet to give in to this foolishness but the thrill of the NFL in general is dead. I can't get excited to watch any other games. Watching other teams play, it might as well be East Tennessee State vs James Madison. Who cares!!!!! There's no Sunday Ticket in my house this year for the first time ever and there won't be a single penny spent on anything NFL related except whatever portion they get from my Directv bill every month. I'm not dumb and I realize I'll likely be back when all of this is done but I have no idea if I'll ever feel the same way about the NFL as I have for the past 30 years.

I totally agree, I could see the NFL being a 2nd or 3rd tier sport in 20 years. I was talking to one of my best friends yesterday about this and he said almost word for word what you posted here. My oldest son is 10 and I talk to a significant number of parents that won't let their kids play football because of the CTE issue.

How far you can jump from one point to another without realizing you are arguing just for the sake of argument.

You dodge any point I make so this does not mean very much to me. I have been talking about what they players have been protesting for consistently just as I did in that post.

You were wrong in your characterization of Kaepernick's positions. I showed how you were wrong and you started this tactic. It's common behavior.

Who said I did any of that? The demographics come from fan statistics.

Are you not a white male over 30 or something or you just looking for something to be vicariously mad about?

Sorry to cast dispersion on the demographic but I'm Puerto Rican from New Jersey, LOL. I thought Cowboys fans came in all shapes sizes genders and ethnicity's? It may come as a suprise to some but there are a variety of thought and opinions among various races. Again. I apologize for not fitting the stereotype in which you have decided is correct. Does it help if I don't like rice and beans?

Okay. I'm not going to do a poll of the board. I don't think Reality would approve but 80% of Cowboys fans are white. I never said that individuals behaved in one way or another either.

That being said if you get a bunch of white older men from Texas this is what you are going to hear.

A certain amount of political discussion is being allowed ONLY in this part of the forum.

Personal attacks are still not permitted. And hopefully people can get their points across without using profanity.

The discussion should be kept civil.

If you see personal attacks then report those posts.

For some reason, I no longer see a "report" button. Check out comment #274 of this thread. AbeBeta calls xwalker a racist...
twice actually. Read the thread. You'll see a "tiki torch" comment which implies white suprimist. There's more.

The problem is that Fuzzy uses racial profiling.

No, I said Kaepernick has never articulated a coherent position on police training issues like the Tamir Rice case. You posted one stupid, incorrect statement Kaepernick made that had the word "training" in it and then declared victory.

At this point Kaepernick could break wind and you would say he had performed Hamlet.

Kaepernick said that beauticians got more training than the 8 weeks that cops get. That is a coherent position and a compelling one.

You were wrong.

This has become a cultural divide thanks to our bully-in -chief. It's not only a NFL protest but all sports and celebrities are unifying.

Its actually bringing more respect to a larger segment around the country standing up to social injustices and inequalities which the flags freedom represents all because our Baby Huey feelings were hurt Curry didn't want to come to WH. So he begun his bullying to rile up his base.

Cops get 8 weeks? That is news to my two brothers and brother-in-law who all went for 6 months+.........

Two of them are homicide detectives now and the other is working on a chopper. FWIW, they have little problem with this anthem stuff but it is becoming a nuisance to them, mostly due to the media pushing agendas.

This started under Obama, at least get your facts straight. Trump may have added fuel to the fire but to blame him is irresponsible. I think it is fair to say Obama started the divide and Trump is continuing it.

I forget what it was he said exactly. Itis true that cops get less training than beauticians.

It was an eye-opening claim, one that I had decided on Monday to research: In California, where Kaepernick lives and works, does a cosmetologist have more training than a police officer?

Before I could actually start the project, I received the letter to the 49ers and the NFL from the San Francisco Police Officers Association, and I noticed that the wide-ranging response to Kaepernick’s assertions did not include a challenge to his facts regarding police versus cosmetology training. Which told me that Kaepernick was factually correct; otherwise, the SFPOA would have pointed it out.

Indeed, he was correct. Police officers in California must attend (either before being hired or upon hire) an 888-hour Basic Police Academy, which requires roughly six months to complete. Cosmetologists in California have a 1,600-hour training requirement before they can even take the test required to secure a license.

Rodney King much? Cops and minorities have been an issue for more than a century.

Obama sent the DOJ out to Ferguson and Baltimore. Oh and he was black.

Yeah, except Trump dog whistled it so loud his base could hear it from Mars through his usual means of communication, Twitter.
