I just finished watching Scott Van Pelt, like him or hate him he had some very insightful words on the subject. This country has become very polarized and I will not throw this in Trumps lap only but either way all sides want "total victory" whether its LBGTQ, Blacks, Whites, Conservatives or Liberals the term compromise is no longer in the vernacular, wins are measured by how many people you can shame into silence. I get you are pissed about this but if you are pissed about the compromise you are part of the problem. I was pissed that these spoiled athletes are using the stage of the national anthem to shower us with their message, I found it offensive being a veteran. I thought that the compromise the Cowboys organization came up with was well thought out, I thought it got the message across and it also did not up stage the national anthem. If you are mad about that tell us what you saw as an amicable compromise for all parties involved.

+3 points awarded for the utilization of the term
" vernacular"

and I too agree MANN59
on how this franchise closed ranks and pulled together as a cohesive unit in prayerful reflection:thumbup:
(It can mean whatever you want it to mean,I don't need anybody 'tell' me what to think or how to interpret things visuallyo_O)

What's interesting to me, is the whole "what will Kap do now after the kneeling", Now that he's donated generous amounts of time and money it turns into "oh he's just doing that for attention. Fake news." Kap was doing all that stuff before anyway. He could donate his entire salary and do volunteer work for the rest of his life, and it wouldn't matter. Des Bryant and JJ Watt only donated $100,000 out if their monstrous salaries for hurricane relief. How selfish of them. They must not really care.

People just don't like Kap. So, there is nothing he can do that will be viewed in a positive light.

Man, I heard 'Kap' donated 100% of his number 1 selling jersey proceeds last year to charity ( it rang up in the + million range)

wow a whole 800K out of 16 million. Kaepernick is an uneducated fool that preached one thing while wearing a shirt with one of the most notorious and oppressive dictators of the 20th century on it.

Oh no, he wore a shirt with Castro on it? Your Government authorized a $350 billion arms deal to one of the worst and the same people responsible for 9/11.

Sorry do not get this, to kneel before the anthem to show unity then standing as a team during the presentation of the colors and the anthem I think was the right thing to do. Had Dallas players knelt down during the anthem yes I would have been upset but I saw nothing last night to be upset about

not enough according to some people here. He should've also bought everyone in the charities jerseys as well.

America, land of the free. Except when people think what they think matters more than everyone else's freedom.

Where was all this anger about GET POLITICS OUTTA SPORTS whenever Tom Brady was walking around the Pats locker room with a MAGA hat?

Let's be real, here. You only care about POLITICS IN SPORTS when it's not YOUR viewpoint at the forefront.

Players are people just like you and me. They are human.

And as for the owners siding with the players over the fans, that's the smart business decision. The players are what enable these owners to make millions of dollars. The star players drive the entire league's revenue. Without them, the owners have nothing. They know where their bread is buttered. The fan? There's millions of us, and it takes a lot to make us mad enough to stop watching games (and therefore advertising), stop buying merchandise, stop playing fantasy football, stop buying Madden....It's a good bet that not enough of us will stop to hurt the bottom line.

So why in the world would the owners side with anyone except their players? The players hold a lot of cards in that relationship.
A million times this.

I'm pointing out that Nascar was praised for saying that they would fire anyone who didn't stand for the Anthem. Yet allows people with Confederate flags to attend their events. The some of the same people who say that not standing for the Anthem is disrespect. Wave Confederate flags and protest the removing of Confederate statues. Which represents a side that fought against the United States to hold up slavery.

So, anyone who is outraged about Kap and all of the other players who are knelling that claim it's disrespect to America and at the same time wear/wave Confederate flags are big hypocrites IMO. The same who would wave a Confederate flag over an American one.
