It's time to ponder some realities

Did you make that post? Did you not start off that sentence "Dak might not be that good...." or what's going on here? Is everything ok?

Did you read the first paragraph of the post or did you skip it?

Do you understand phrases like "these aren't DEFINITE" and "POTENTIAL issues".

Garrett is 61-49.

Not amazing but this idea that he's some 0.500 coach isn't supported by objective analysis.

But when does objectivity rule the day of a loss?

That's right. You tell 'em.

Garrett's a 9-7 coach, not an 8-8 coach.

2 of his best 3 seasons happened in the last 3 years.

And a lot of those 8-8 seasons were with terrible rosters saved by Romo's brilliance.

This idea that any old ball coach would have waltzed in here and squeezed all these extra wins out of this team is silly.

OScan ain't as good as people advertise....just been best of the worse.

As good a rookie season as he had, Dak did not look like an elite QB - was still a work in progress.

This year he's looked more or less the same. We havent seen that step forward that should come with a full offseason of work. His mechanics in the pocket look learned and forced - lacking the natural fluidity you get with all elite QBs. Even though we won the game, the contrast between him and Carson Palmer on Monday jumped out of the screen.

All elite QBs (and many not so elite) coming out of college throw the ball well. They may not throw it to the right spot, they may make the wrong read, they may not yet have adjusted to the speed of the NFL. But the basic ability is there (Goff is actually a good example).

Dak has never been in this category. While we're dealing with a small sample size - 4 games - it may be that he just doesnt have the natural ability to be elite. He appears to be an extremely intelligent guy who works very hard. It may be that because of this he is way more advanced than other young QBs re picking up the speed and nuances of the NFL. This allowed him to be more NFL ready out of the box. But long term the limitations will show.
