Tony Romo. Thats what happened. Romo made him better than he ever was.
I didn't want to say it because I didn't want to start a big controversy. T-Will had great chemistry with Romo. Dak needs a different type of receiver at this point in his career. Hopefully, they will start clicking real soon. Dak shouldn't have to checkdown to Witten all the time, although that is a money option.

There's lots of things we could have done along the way to be in position to win, for sure. But you can't really overestimate how big that play was. Not only was it a turnover, it was a pick-6, on a drive where we had a chance to put the game away. And it flipped ToP to the point where we were no longer likely to be the team that had the ball last. That was huge. Even with a ~9 min drive, we still left them with enough time on the clock to win it. Had we just sustained possession a few more plays that drive, we'd like win the game with a big drive of our own at the end while nursing a lead.
You make me wanna cry, telling me stuff I already know.:(

His ball placement isn’t the best yet. Twill should’ve caught that ball though.

He gets it to the receivers, and they should catch it, which they did for him last year, but I know he left a couple of touchdowns on the field last year with his placement and he still can throw a little behind a receiver.

He’s getting better at it, but still has a bit to go.

For an example of what I’m saying:

Here, he throws a pass to Beasley that should have been a TD with better placement(47 second mark the play begins)

I think his ball placement is good but can be spotty at times. That TD pass to Dez last game was perfect. I also think of that pass to Butler for a TD against the Packers last year in Lambau was phenomenal.

Being a body catcher, TWill struggles when he has to stop and wait for the ball to come to him. Most of his drops are when he has to stop and wait for the ball to catch it.

When he is catching the ball on the move, he can run towards the ball and get his body closer to it so he has less issues.

The body catcher pros and cons:

Pros:
gets open, creates separation and stretches the field. Can often times make clutch catches. Has the ability to do amazing catches from time

Cons:
Does not know how to instinctively catch the ball. That is a huge problem.

He would be a legit #2 if he could catch and be reliable.

Wont be long & we'll get this exact thread again, only it will be about Brice Butler. Both will make catches when you need them, then drop them when you need them as well.

Body catchers in general, Drew Pearson was another, aren't necessarily bad. The problem is when you're an inconsistent catcher of any kind, and try to make body catches in situations not suited for them.

The good WRs can catch the damn ball any number of ways, and adjust to the pass, the defender, the sideline, whatever it takes. T Will has shown just enough flashes - remember that sideline grab at Seattle - to drive fans crazy with his inconsistency.
Remember the catch last Thanksgiving where he dragged his feet for the TD? One of the sweetest TD catches I've ever seen, but like you said, consistency is the issue.

Not a perfect pass, but should have been caught. It is what it is: Six free points for the opposition.

It's the best pass Dak could make. If he through it any more to the left, the LB jumping in front of him would have blocked it. TWill was basically in one spot too, not like he was running and had it thrown behind him.

At that price I thought it was a decent signing. In fairness, T-Will has made some plays for us but the incessant body catching and lack of ball skills in the air s maddening.
The one thing about the deal I like is he can be moved down the depth chart and not cut at that salary. At least for a couple years. You aremt financially married to him as your #2.
