the secondary is upgraded, but they are rookies it will be up and down
you didnt draft in the top 5 for these guys
the Cowboys have a ridiculous amount of sacks and pressures
the big problem is linebacker
playing prevent and rushing 3 because we have no linebackers is killing against the run
if you cant stop the run you cant stop anything. wait till Legarrette Blount is hitting the second level untouched, or even Carlos Hyde next week

i watched him and he wasnt that bad from what i saw, but then he has others to help including a monster defense line.

hes forgot more than you will ever know about football
it would be like 2 Sean Lees, 1 at Will and 1 at Mike. let Wilson cover
then you rush 4 again

People forget that Bowman started to be better than Willis in his later years. Maybe top 3 LB in this league good. Willis was a beast, but Bowman was the cog.

A trio of Smith, Lee, and Bowman...and backups of Wilson, and Hitchens. That group would be chopping their way up to great linebacker groups.

Excellent scenario, with Jaylon learning from two great linebackers, how to play at the NFL level. It's a no brainer to me.

Easy there guy. I'm not taking anything away from the rookies, in fact I quite like them, if only you continued to read and notice my comment on heath you'd know what I meant. If you can honestly look at the secondary and say it's fine then that's an issue you have. I'm sick of watching Heath get torched/taking horrible angles, and scrandrick waving at footballs.

Ok, after reading thru this whole thread ...
1) As a vested veteran he does not have to clear waivers - he's a free agent.
2) No, he's not what he was - but I feel it would still be worth it to bring him in. Jaylon just isn't ready. Wilson got sat down last week and the new guy has a bum hammy ? Lee, Hitchens/Bowman, Wilson/Hitchens. And the backups. Sounds good to me !
3) San Fran is on the hook for this year, so offer him half of what he would make and an option year.
4) A vet from outside this system, who played with Lee in college. Would bring a different perspective to the group and another mentor for Jaylon.
5) Only thing that would give me pause is if he has really struggled with the switch from 3/4 LB to 4/3 LB - but I would still do it !
All day every day. Even at 75% of what he was, its an upgrade and great depth, which they do not have now ...
