Said a long time ago that I thought that this is what the NFL was after the whole time. I don't believe it will be 1 or 2 games though. I believe it will be 3 or 4 but that's just my opinion. I still believe that if push comes to shove, the NFL will win and that's 6 games if it comes down to that.

Zeke, IMO, would be smart to deal and get on with his life. It's more important that he gets something less then DV on the record. He loses, and again I think that it is likely he would if no agreement is reached, then he's one more DV incident away from being banned for life. Think about that now. The number of games, less then 6, is really not important in the long term IMO. The important thing is no DV.

Anyone else listed to Jim Miller / Pat Kirwin show on Sirrus ?

Kirwin sure implies that he " knows " without coming out and saying what it is , that there is really damaging evidence to Zeke that hasn't been revealed , and that Zeke doesn't want revealed.

So what is it , and where is he getting this alleged stuff. Maybe the league office is using him as a conduit.

I didn't hear a caller ask, So Pat how do you know this , and feel so confident in the way you express it....

Ok if I'm Zeke, I'll take a settlement.
Here's my deal

  1. Drop everything, all suspension talks etc
  2. Public apology for wasting my time, and the cowboys time
  3. Cowboys get to host a Super Bowl
  4. Public apology for messing up the Dez catch in greenbay
  5. We get to swap BJones for Landon Collins
  6. He takes Taco back and gives us Reuben Foster
  7. We get Leary back
  8. Makes Belichek coach the cowboys
  9. Autographed photo of Ed Hochuli
and one free pass for future booby exposure.

It's definitely a foregone conclusion that Elliott has his future, his name and his reputation to consider above and beyond a settlement.

Nevertheless, I see advantages and disadvantages for both sides by continuing this ongoing legal battle to extend their entanglement.

In full consideration of the possible positive benefits and/or negative aspects of the situation for both sides, a settlement is a possibility.

I suspect if there was damaging evidence out there, the NFL would produce it or leak it. There is no point in letting the courts continue to hand them losses here while they have the smoking gun that would make all of this go away and force Elliott to clam up and take his 6 game suspension.

It would not surprise me if Kirwin is being used by the NFL or someone in the NFL. It makes no logical sense for the league to sit on verifiable evidence that clearly shows Elliott was guilty of what they claim he has done.

For the love of God just settle this thing, i'm so sick of this and the kneeling coverage. It used to be my escape from "real life" to sit down and watch coverage, or a game and only talk about the match ups.

I'm at the breaking point with the NFL, i'll watch the cowboys but the rest has lost the appeal.

Someone get that man a box of tissue...

I'm so sick of people crying over kneeling and Zeke trying to prove his innocence. Get over yourself

True money paying fans lol. How would know you talked to all the true money paying fans? Since the answer is NO what are you blabbing about true money fans for like those on the other hand can't be true money paying fans also?

I know what this punishment was about and I think so do you. It was a "makeup call" for the botched prior decions on Ray Rice, Greg Hardy, and Josh Brown.

And it was made to appease the special interest groups out for blood for how those prior cases were mishandled. Groups that couldn't care less about the NFL, and people who don't spend a dime on it.

In the process, the league is alienating those that do watch their product and do spend their time and money on it. And ratings that continue to decrease support that. True fans are getting tired.

I also wish people would stop with the tired sports is a getaway line. If someones life is that bad they need to work on improving it instead of doing like a user and just escaping from reality to return back to the same place they started at.

Nobody said anybody's "life is that bad", maybe you're inferring that mistakenly. But the fact is that sports are entertainment, a respite from stress and bad news, not a cause of it. And when that respite isn't there anymore, or it's actually a cause for more of it, there becomes little point in tuning in just to hear more bad news.

Again, decreasing ratings support that.

Who approached who about a potential settlement?

A settlement may not be a horse trade over the number of games. It could be agreement on rehearing the matter in a manner that both parties regard as fair.

Leaking the evidence could damage the NFL in the eyes of the court and leave them exposed to litigation for leaking personal information. An "institution" cannot be seen to be underhand against an individual.

Someone call his bluff.
Only if you get all stipulations in writing ... he is saying won’t win IN COURT however if NFL drops all the person betting him would still owe him 10,000 as Zeke didn’t win IN COURT

If that were the case, I would have no faith in a "fair" hearing, even then, if I were Zeke. Just because the league would agree to a "better process" in an appeal do-over by Zeke doesn't mean the league would be any more "fair" in their decision at the end. I have zero faith that the NFL would ever be fair in Zeke's case at this point.

I would take the deal if it were this:

Two game suspension for conduct detrimental.

NFL MUST drop any mention of domestic violence. No counseling, or future possibilities of being banned for life.

Yes, would be good. I would even try for one game.
