What a series! Finally, my Astros took it all!! They were my dad's favorite team. As a kid when a play would happen I'd run to him to tell him. He's been gone since '03, so this weekend I will go to him and give him some good news. Congrats Astros and to LA, you guys will eventually be Champs.

God bless your father, 81.

He’s smiling in heaven right now, my brother. His Stros brought it home!

You’re crazy. Correa isn’t even the best Astro.

Altuve is. And it’s not even close. And after him it’s probably Verlander.

Let’s see how Correa does next year. Every year it’s the “who’s the next Mike Trout?” Hell, Springer was their best player in the WS.

Altuve has been the only constant in the “Trout vs MLB” debate. Even Harper has crap years. Altuve has been the most consistent player in the debate.

And he doesn’t hold a matchstick to Trouty :flagwave:

I would say Springer is better than Correa, along with Altuvie. Not including pitchers in this. I am talking about the importance of a position relative to a team.

The Astros needed a stud SS to couple with Altuvie, along with Springer.......the middle defense. Well, they got it now.

This has nothing to do with MVP talk, best player on team, etc, etc. This has everything to do with chemistry and the missing ingredient.

If it makes you happy, Mike Trout is the best player in baseball but that was not my argument

I remember as a kid the Astros as the Astro pop

We had the best SS in baseball last season (according to WAR, both by fG and bG -- Simba). No player is more important to their team than Trout is to the Angels. Also, aside from that, CF is the most premium position in baseball, outside of Ace Pitcher. And a true Ace is few and far between.

If we don't get him a Chip I'll never forgive Arte.

Keep in mind Correa missed a chunk of the season which hurt his WAR.

Dex didn't think the Astros had enough pitching...

Between the addition of Verlander and the ability to shift their extra starters to the bullpen, they covered up their big weakness.

And boy if any other teams GM wants to make themselves sick go see what the Astros paid for Charlie Morton for this season and the guy was terrific. Without Charlie Morton they wouldn't be where they are.

After nearly 100 seasons a team from Texas finally wins the World Series...

So many previous disappointments for good Astro teams.

And the Rangers botching one opportunity after another.

This feels good. :)
