MLB Offseason thread

The Astros need to add some depth to their bullpen, and find a true shut down closer. I would also like to keep some of our role player free agents. A huge loss is losing a top coach to the Red Sox.

sadly i just don't see where the WORLD CHAMPS are getting a shut down guy without paying $17 mil per and they aren't paying that. giles was good all year til the post season...so was devo, harris, peacock. im chalking alot of their playoff woes to being over worked from june-sept while the astros dealt with alot of pitching injuries. i still want a solid left arm in the bullpen and a hammer at DH though.

I haven't been interested in the regular season for last couple years. I used to watch about 20 Yankee games a year, in Jeter's last days it became difficult to even watch 10 games. I have no idea who is going to manage the Yankees, i have no idea who is good for the job and who is not. The Yankee's need to make the right choice or things could go south very quickly. The Yankees need the Torres kid to step up at 3B.

But what they really need is a top-of-the-rotation starter.

And I'd like to see Judge reduce his K's. To me the kid could go either way... Maintain his current production or regress.

I don't think he will regress but he could. I agree about the ace situation.

Now if Judge starts partying and not working on his craft yea he's done, if he works he will be ok.

I don't see the Astros spending big dollars for a relief guy either.

I do agree that a LH reliever will probably be brought in at a reasonable cost to the team.

I think Tyler White and AJ Reed will get the shot at DH. I really like White's bat.

I'd like to see the team extend Keuchel.

Severino is that Ace....... Tanaka coming back is huge and we might get Otani...... Gray and Montgomery make a great rotation

I would love to trade Ellsbury, Headley and Robertson to get a big bat for DH and get the owners under the luxury tax so we can sign Manny Machado next year

I love it when teams like the Yankees, Red Sox and Dodgers spend all that money and lose to a team with a much lower payroll. Just a good feeling.

Trout robbed of a SS over Springer, who had a whopping 1 more HR and was beaten in nearly all analytical metrics by Trout. Wow, he played 22 more games.

In good news, Upton got his third, and he's with us for the next 5 years. Now we just need a 1b, 2b, and 3b LOL

Stanton saying he wants to come to Anaheim or Los Angeles. His shortlist. Problem is, we can't swing that because of 45 year old Pujols' albatross contract that goes to 2022.

God, I wish we would retire.
