My exact thought, Dak is very similar to Russell but doesn't have the same feel for the game as passers. Russell is always looking beyond the sticks while Dak is always looking for his first read and then check down.

Wilson also has much better foot work in a better/cleaner throwing motion than Dak. Dak has some work to do.

Dak is an Olympic athlete compared to Romo, but he’s not nearly as athletic as Wilson. Just a fact. Few have Wilson’s quickness, agility, and speed. The kid was also a successful pitcher and SS; he has a very strong arm. The knocks on him coming out of college were accuracy and stature. He spends a lot of time on the move, finding passing lanes to make up for his height, and his accuracy has improved over the years.

Passing is relative to the player, so forward momentum of the player has to be taken into account. You can pass the ball backward but if you were already moving forward at 5km/hr, that forward momentum is added to the ball. If you pass the ball backward at half that speed the ball will still move forward.

If the ball has to travel backward that is relative to the ground it means the ball has to physically go backward.

If you watch rugby union you'll see a number of passes that float forward but are ruled backward. It depends on how the rule is stated but I think it's just "passes backward"? Not too sure.

A fumble in the red zone doesn’t show up on the passer rating. That was THE key play in the game. IMO.

Again not knocking Wentz but overall he has had a bad game. Missing open receivers when he had time and a key turnover. Wentz should have had two more long TD’s if he doesn’t miss wide open recievers when he had plenty of time.


It happens against good defenses. Doesn’t mean he sucks. But it has been a bad game to this point.
