Sounds about right. Current wild card teams have 4 and 5 losses. A Dallas loss would give them 7 losses and a Seattle loss would give them 6 losses and likely would lose the tie-breaker to Atlanta.

Seattle is already at 6 losses too.

The Falcons' win last night forces the Cowboys to win out to make the playoffs.

As as been stated here often already, the Cowboys also need one Lions loss and now two Falcons losses to make it as well.

I can see Atlanta losing to the Saints and Panthers, but I can't see the Lions losing to either the Bengals or Aaron Rodgers-less Packers. If only the Cowboys held on in October against the Rams and Packers; 10-4 would look pretty good right now....

Seattle losing will give them 7 not 6. They are tied at 8-6 with us and Detroit

NFLN just said the loser of the Seattle - Dallas game is eliminated from the playoffs.

I have not checked to see if this is true or not. But it seems like it may be so.

So does this put Garrett on the hot seat...

A lose and out game, win and stay alive game...yes the last 3ga,es have been that way...but now it is down to the nut crunching time as there is no room for error. As all the other teams been winning as well.
..sounds about right. That's why Dallas stated the playoffs started 2 wks ago. Lose one, your out.

Not meaning to drain on everyone's parade, but we are out now. Maybe not mathematically. But to be sure, Dallas did not beat the Raiders as much as the Raiders beat themselves. JMO.

You're not raining on anyone's parade. But we are NOT out now.

So please promote facts over hurt feelings prior to the team's actual elimination.

True, but there was a scenario that would have got Dallas in at 9-7 up until the Falcons won last night. That's gone now.

From the last drive through the rest of the game Oakland did outplay the Cowboys. Carr runs out of bounds (like he should have) the Cowboys lose that game.

Cannot argue with that, but Carr also threw what should have been the game-ending interception just a couple plays earlier. Anthony Brown dropped it.

That's the NFL. We've seen Dallas lose games they should have won. It's nice to win one they should have lost for a change.

Call on every able body and play to win.

Win or lose, Garrett returns next year. I think it would be safe to assume, however, Marinelli is gone as DC. His defenses do not generate enough turnovers.
I don't think it's his defense per say, it's the players... There could/should have been at least 3 against the Raiders if they could hold on to the ball. And there has been other game also that that has happened...

If Atlanta loses out (they have the toughest remaining schedule in the NFL facing New Orleans and Carolina), a 9-7 team could get in. But Cowboys can't win the tiebreaker in that scenario I don't believe.
