Other than finding Dak’s particular magic number to shoot for in trying to keep pressure down (good luck with that) this is basically just unintelligible gobbledygook. I can’t think of anything useful that can be derived from it that isn’t already obvious.
I think (when his head is right, at least) his lateral movement is good. As many have mentioned, one of the things he can improve is stepping up to avoid the pass rush. Not doing that is one of the things that sometimes lead to a quick sack, even though that's his fault. This tells me he is as good as anyone in the league when he has time, but struggles as do most young QB's when pressured.
I am a big believer in his work ethic, approach...he will get better.

The big thing I want to see is can he get to a point where he reacts like he's practiced it every time, regardless of how many times he's been hit. That's what Brady does.
The problem is when he is pressured >40% of the time.
Then Dak becomes a far below average QB. He hears footsteps even when they aren't there. The QB differential from when he is pressured <40% and >40% of the time is greater than almost every QB in the league.
Agreed. Also remember that we're trying to win a SB and in the playoffs you play the best defenses so I would think you'll be pressured a lot more
Dak and the coaching staff need to fix this
They do know a player's strengths ad weaknesses more in year two. I know; stating the obvious here.Do defensive coordinators play back against rookies and attack 2nd year quarterbacks?
You cant talk sense into the Dak haters. They have been waiting in the weeds for a bad stretch from Dak just to let loose on him. Reasoning is not a part of their agenda. They hated Dak from the start and always will. Ironically, the same people that defended Romo are now tearing apart Dak. Personally, I put the hard corp Dak haters on ignore. And I dont put many people on ignore.
Good stuff by Percy.
Remember that what is defined as "pressure" is subjective.
Not saying it helps or hurts Dak, just pointing out that the following is not taken into account:
Hold the ball too long?
Not see open receiver immediately?
Step right into pressure?
Not climb the pocket?
etc
None of that is included. It'd be really hard to determine, granted.

Plenty of us have noted, goi
ng all the way back to last year, mechanics and accuracy issues in games where he had a good passer rating. Those things show up in every game, not just when his numbers are bad.
TD, those things have little to no effect on his overall passing performance in the other games (when he's pressured on less than 40% of his dropbacks). So unless you expect near perfection, you have to conclude that he isn't doing nearly as many of those things in the under 40% pressure games. And what of that percentage causes Dak to release early or late and completely throw off target?
So you are claiming that a bad QB has a great QB rating and great stats.Plenty of us have noted, going all the way back to last year, mechanics and accuracy issues in games where he had a good passer rating. Those things show up in every game, not just when his numbers are bad.

Or look at the Saints this year. It's all short stuff and highly dependent on YAC, and Brees has been practically untouchable.Brady has been a dink and dunker for years now. The only thing Brady has is unquestionable leadership skills and Lombardi trophies. If you're only throwing 3 yard outs and 7 yard slants percentages should be high. Look no further than Cooks drop off in the deep game this year.
I don't have those numbers either unfortunately, but I remember a PFF tweet that he was among the top 10 rated passers from the pocket sometime near the midpoint of the season.Any stats on "in the pocket" vs "out of the pocket?"
I saw that he was the second highest rated passer outside the pocket at the midway point with 38 attempts, but I don't recall as many scrambles for big passing plays in the second half. I know that "outside the pocket" doesn't necessarily mean broken plays but I'm still curious how that worked out for the whole season.
