We hate on JG, some more than others and some even clamored for Jon Gruden. Why?

I don’t get the Gruden love beyond the fact that he seems like a cool dude. 9 years in a booth is a lot to overcome. And his deal is redonkulous.

Right now, the knock on Garrett is the playoff record. That’s progress from what the knock has been historically, but it’s still a knock. It comes down to whether or not you think we’re losing games because of coaching. Many seem to believe that.

Personally, I put it on the fact we’ve been unable to field a quality defense going back almost ten seasons now. Some of that’s on Garrett. A lot of it I put on the Joneses. Either way, it needs to be fixed and ought to be priority one this offseason. But it might not be.

No, the knock on Garrett is that he is a terrible coach and borderline useless for even the minimal that he does here. Just sayin.

Some of us just started posting here.

Ok, fair enough. Well this site has now basically turned into the Garrett hating site. Probably most boards around the world that are Cowboy boards have finally come around. Always a few hangers on that think Garrett is mildly competent.

He sucks. No other way to put it. Not really the energy to go into detail. Its pretty obvious how bad he is. If fans cant tell by now there is really no hope and its not worth getting into.

Yeah, the knocks on JG go way beyond just the playoff record. Very odd playcalling, odd decision, terrible clock management, questionable knowledge of the game(thinking a 51 yd FG attempt was a gimme). And then add in the draft snafu's, specifically Esco, and there's just too many errors. Many felt like we got lucky and fell into the run game in 14. I feel myself as if that might be the case.

I am sorry that it seemed like we came in and was stepping on your toes. I heard today that Brice Butler said that Jerry decides who to throw to and what plays to run. It's hard to continue as a fan if that is true.

He didn’t do anything, because Jerry took away his play calling duties.

The only thing he did was probably had his father to convince Jerry that Dak was better for the team than Romo and that proved to show just how even more incompetent he was..

He coordinated the offense in 2007,2008,2009. 2007 the offense was ranked #2 in the league.

Not at all buddy. Sorry if I was short. This Garrett thing has been a huge fight for years on here. I completely agree about being a fan. This is the most frustrated I have EVER been as a fan. I actually hate this team at this point. Not much to like in my opinion. I see absolutely no hope as an organization with Jerry and Garrett teaming up to run the show. Its sickening.

Because of Romo and passing yardage and playing from behind, and as soon as Sparano left they dropped to bottom half in scoring, 18 to be exact and were a TO prone offense and Bottom of the league in red zone scoring and play action pass usage when all was said and done.

Meaning all that passing yardage didn’t amount to crap. All teams did was play deep cover two and gave us between the 20s.

And then Jerry ultimately took his play calling duties away and banished him from the offense per his own words Mrs. Garrett..

I'm in wait mode myself. Never have I ever been as emotionally uninvolved as I am at present. And that is not my style.

However, I refuse to invest of myself emotionally when so much is going on that doesn't make sense, so much that is clearly against sound football logic.

I almost cried at Jerry's speech: "We don't need a good OL because we have a mobile QB."

Sickening.

Romo tells that Garrett isn't involved in x and 0's. Jerry coaching is what he wanted.

And just to provide you a little taste for a reminder, in Garrett’s last year as play-caller officially it was the talk of the town that basically the Cowboys best offense was when they went up-tempo, no-huddle.. meaning when Garrett was rendered useless and Romo was doing stuff on the fly

Since it’s filters by the site, just search on the title.

To add, and we were exposed down the stretch in 07, putting up 28, 6, 20, and 6 in our last 4 games, and averaging 290 yds/game over those last 4. The wheels were already coming off.

He said the same thing 5 years ago with Romo. Said we could save money on the Oline when you have a QB like Romo. LOL

Jerry is a football idiot. Plain and simple.

If this is true, I don't understand why Jerry just doesn't get out there and coach the team, and save himself $5 million a year.

As we figured out a few years ago, Jerry runs this team through the eyes of a fan, always focusing on CB's and WR's and not understanding the value of the trenches. Unable to look beyond any problem to see what the root cause is.

Yep, our passing game was exposed but the excuse that time was TOs high-ankle sprain. But Garrett kept sucking up the joint the years that followed and their were all sorts of excuses for him, including the lack of a 2nd WR so Jerry basically leveraged a draft for Garrett to get him. Garrett was even getting criticized for not running the ball and Wade wanted to bring in Dan Reeves because Garrett had no concept of controlling tempo and time control offense and kept turning the ball over.

And to top it all off, in 2012 Dallas was pursing Sparano to return to ‘help Garrett’, meaning they had no clue what they were doing and then Jerry finally said **** and banished him from play calling.

They even admitted a couple years back finally he was a HC in training, but true to Jones form they thought that his COY award which in reality had little to do with Garrett redeemed them and the fruition of their work, but as this year proved the guy is clueless. Benched an elite QB based on temporal success of a back up who doesn’t fit the personnel or offensive philosophy of the very offense that Garrett himself brought here.

This guy is clueless..

We wasted Romo and Witten and so many others best years for this clown. Garrett is a stigma on this organization and possibly the worst decision in franchise history.

They did bring in Reeves. For a weekend. Something bad happened, and he left very suddenly. It was kept hushhush.

Nice to see some new guys that definitely get it. I completely agree.
