Philly game should show us again that D wins championships

However so true this fundamental law of Footballdom is & shall remain V-MAN!,,, the utter lackadaisical approach of addressing the perennial flaws& weaknesses in our defenses fielded throughout our wandering the wasteland of .500 ball
Needs immediate & directed attention THIS upcoming draft,,,and it's looking like 2 picks in the first 4 RDS will probably be a W.R.&O.T.(they'll probably fish for a kicker somewhere along the lines,also)
As 'crappy' of playoff football product being witnessed thus far,,, to not acknowledge the defensive effects being fielded in making the games look like the alleged crap shows is ludicrous,,, the Defense can win you playoff games with a Q B like Folz,,,we just saw it.

Did you not even read my post? I said he had a great season... just like Dak had a great rookie season. But as we all witnessed, one season doesn't make you a superstar. If Wentz can continue that same performance in future seasons then yes he is a superstar but I would have sworn Dak would be able to repeat his success in his sophomore season too but it didn't happen.
 
Go look at the Eagle’s roster on D....1st and 2nd rd picks everywhere from powerhouse schools, meanwhile Dallas “stacks” their roster with guys from small schools taken late in the draft or undrafted....Certainly not “foolproof” (Khalil Mack) but that philosophy will make you better
 
Ironically, the Cowboys D is coming around and two pieces away from being really good, three from being dominant. If they can improve the middle of the DL with a collapsing body eater and close the talent gap between Lee and the next man up, they are going to be a force. Add a veteran safety in the mix who can get the D lined up and play all over the field and they will be dominant.

The offense killed the Cowboys in 2017. No imagination, tired scheme, rigid coaching. Garrett thinks he is standing on the sidelines with JJohnson watching that machine from the 90s systematically dismantle and demoralize the opposition. Garrett's version is not nearly as good.

Find the opposing teams weakness and attack it. A couple of examples of teams doing it against Dallas. The Falcons attacked the LT. The Rams attacked the middle the of the defense.

Dallas has definitely failed acquiring enough talent on defense. It appears that has changed the last couple of years but they still have a long way to go.

As good as the Eagles defense played, they still let the Falcons get in position to win the game. Luckily for Philly, Atlanta choked at the end of the game with poor play calls and poor execution by the players. There is nothing wrong with being good and lucky. Philly has had good fortune on their side all season. This game was no exception. How many balls did they put on the ground and recovered? The should have been INT that bounced off of ATL's DB into the hands of a Philly WR. The wounded duck pass Foles chucked up and some how turns into a long PI.

Oh, Man! How true,V-Man and that's something I'd failed to take into consideration as to the breaks& bounces they got,
In a statistical paper review they should've been blown completely out of the water based on turnovers in the post season level of play
( to be completely honest, the only impactful turnover I recall seeing was the one that ended the game,,,:huh:,,,wait a minute! ,,,Atlanta downed out when there #11 fell down in the end zone on 4th down,,, but even on that play Ryan only had two targets to wing it to when he rolled out to the right( I was heavily engaged in my drinking hobby during that game, I don't even recall how many turnovers there were)
But, anyway, with Philly sporting an attacking style of pressure defense ,the effects are envious,,,on the other hand MATT RYAN seriously exploited their defensive backfield in blitzkrieging down the field to set them up for the win,,,AND THE SILENCE IN THAT STADIUM WAS PRICELESS:lmao:

I think the Dallas D was very underated by all ... but most by Cowboy fans. Though it is a little scary how big a impact Lee has on Defense. Its not good at all and no way should one player have that much swing. Lee is a stud when healthy but he has already missed 1/3 of games in his career. The Dallas D can be much improved through draft but needs to find a nice FA vet to help lead.

Falcons offense didnt really do anything. I guess it was hard too see with rose colored glasses on. There only points came from bad turnovers that put them in the Redzone because special teams failed huge last night and Ajayi forgot to hold onto the ball. DOnt forget the Phantom personal Foul in RZ given them Extra downs , the hit was perfect and legal. Even Nick foles put up more yards and better stats then Matty Ice. You know why they call him Matty Ice right? Its because he slips and falls on his face like he was on ice when the game matters.
 
You can certainly overcome less than perfect QB play with great defense. We’ve seen it over the years and we’ve seen it in the playoffs this year. If you have a defense that can make critical stops especially when games are on the line you have a chance to win despite less than perfect QB play. The key is not having your QB turn the football over. Regardless how good your defense is it’s hard to win with turnovers.
 
It's NOT defense. The biggest indicator of winning is the QB/Coach combo.

The Jags defense has been fantastic this year. Do we really think Bortles is about to roll in and beat the Steelers? I mean, defense wins championship, after all.

I mean, I would LOVE to see that. But I don't have my hopes up.

Just looking at what each of them were tasked with in their respective offenses should have told you who would be the better player. Dak was shielded his entire rookie season. He wasn't asked to do much more than manage the game. He was given easy reads in the passing game. What that does is limit the offense because you can't trust him with more complex things.
The plan was to give him more of the offense this season. And he was horrible. He has no idea of what defenses are trying to do because he can't read them. Most times he threw into the teeth of the defense because that's where his primary receiver was. Outside of an occasional run, that's where his adaptation ends. He needs things to be perfect for him to succeed.
Contrast that with what Wentz does. Not only does he does an amazing job pre-snap seeing what he should expect he sets the line protections as well. He has complete control of his offense. He has zero restrictions in the passing game. He has the backing of his entire coaching staff to change calls based on what he sees. He has a photographic memory so it is basically impossible to fool him twice with the same look.
His teammates will run through walls for him. And he is a gym rat. First in the building last one to leave. And at 6' 5" and 245 lbs. he can make every throw. I personally don't believe we've seen what this guy has as of yet. His ceiling is unbelievable. The next thing for him is to start getting calls that the Brady's and the Rogers of the league get. What that defense they may go on a 7-8 year run.

Cowboys are the bottom 5 in defensive spending and the Eagles are number 8

On offense, the cowboys and eagles spend about the same. Only one million difference between the two.
