I thought Moncrief was going to be a big deal. Hard to get too excited about another hot-and-cold guy with injury issues, though.

Yea, I hear you. Just that if he takes a prove it deal, I don't think it could hurt with his "potential".

1,000 yard receivers since he’s been receiver coach

RAIDERS
2009 - None
2010 - None
2011 - None

JETS
2012 - None
2013 - None
2014 - None

BILLS
2015 - Sammy Watkins (1,047)
2016 - None

COLTS
2017 - None

This guy has been part of some of the worst offenses in football. Some seasons the top receiver didn’t even top 750 yards. Now he wasn’t the offensive coach, so there is that. But man, talk about coaching up a bunch of nobodies.
The Musers were also saying that his first year with the Jets and Raiders they drafted DHB and his first year with the Jets they drafted Stephen Hill. Not to say he pulled the trigger, but surely he had some say in it.

I was luke warm on Dooley. About the same with Lal. I don't know how much talent he's had to work with but if he can coach above average out of our average group of WR's then it's good

This is amazing. Raiders, Bills, Jets and Colts. What pedigree. This team is becoming such a laughingstock.
If coming from a winning organization meant success the eagles would still have chip and the pats would not have gues who
A position coach and an organization winning general have nothing to do with each other
A team winning is much about the teams talent
Position coaches work with just there positions and this guy seems to be well respected for that

Not sure a first year position coach would have much influence on a teams draft

Well, the rumor was that Dooley was very vocal in his first year here to draft Cordarrelle Patterson in the first round back in 2013.
We traded back to pick #31 and the Vikings jumped ahead of us cause they supposedly had intel that we wanted to take C.P.if he landed to pick #31. Whether that was smoke and mirror by us, who knows.

Didn’t Dooley influence the Devin street pick?

This makes zero sense? You know that, right? BB won Super Bowls with the Giants. Chip Kelly, and I think the guy is a fraud, did win lots of games at Oregon. So you don't see the correlation between OL productivity pre/post Bill Callahan? Talent - Dallas is loaded with talent at nearly every position. Having a winning pedigree isn't everything but it matters. If you think the path is the same hiring coaches from say Detroit vs. coaches from New England - I feel sorry for you.

Patriots asst coaches don't exactly have a great track record as HCs.

I'll need to refresh my memory on that pick, but did find this:

https://thelandryhat.com/2016/01/04/five-cowboys-players-whose-stock-is-plummeting/
The fact that Street was a former Cowboys fifth round pick, had a year’s experience in Dallas under his belt and that he was wide recevier coach Derek Dooley’s pet project likely all contributed to his promotion to the active roster over more deserving players like Nick Harwell, A.J. Jenkins and David Porter.

http://www.lehighvalleylive.com/sports/index.ssf/2014/05/liberty_high_school_grad_devin_2.html
Pitt's all-time leading pass-catcher had a good feeling about Dallas after meeting with its representatives at the NFL combine and working out for wide receivers coach Derek Dooley, formerly the head coach at the University of Tennessee, on a separate occasion.

"I felt like they had the most faith in me throughout this whole process," Street said.

That faith was displayed when the Cowboys dealt away their fifth-round pick and a seventh-round choice to Detroit, moving up to ensure they got the Bethlehem wideout.

What are you talking about? It is not perfect but Bill O'Brien saved Penn State and has been decent in Houston with no QB. Josh McDaniels was never given a chance in Denver but is so well thought of that the Colts are handing him Luck's career. He will be great there. Matt Patricia is a work in progress. Where art thou Romeo was an OK HC, thought of enough to get a few jobs, but a good DC. Vraebel is about to coach the Titans. That tree is not terrible. But if you think it is better to load the boat with Bengals coaches we will have to agree to disagree,

So you agree. Not a good track record which defeats your argument.
