With all of the coaching firings and hirings, it sure seems to me, that this really could be Garrett's last season as HC. I was actually surprised Jerry kept both Linehan and Miranelli and not fire at least one of them. So unless Garrett makes a deep playoff run, I suspect Jerry will move on from JG.

It is the logical choice and should happen. But we are talking Jerry and his passion to succeed with Garrett...he can't admit failure or a mistake, or even if it is time to move on.
Garrett will be here for quite a while, get used to 8-8 for the next 3 years or more.

I sure hope that's the case. I mean there sure should be some form of accountability, right?

Isn't winning the bottom line and most important goal of any sports team?

I'd be perfectly OK if Garrett won big next year and everyone got to give me a "told ya so!" for being wrong about him. I'd gladly take the lumps, because it would mean that this team won something. What do I care about some internet comments if that happens?

But, if they don't, I would hope that Garrett would be held accountable and a change would be made. After all, if I'm expected to be held accountable for my words and actions, shouldn't I expect the head coach of this team to be accountable as well?

I can't resign myself to that. There is already enough fan disgust and backlash over the fact that he brought Garrett back this year. Even Jerry the spin doctor is out of turd polish at this point.

Nope, it's not his last stand.......after what Jerry said yesterday...............Jason is like Jerry's very own Roger Goodell, he does as he is told and doesn't rock the boat, perfect HC for Jerry........remember Jerry's priority is not winning football games, they're nice when they happen but they're not #1 on his priority list like ours.

I am sure another season of failure in 2018 would be met with excuse making and rationalizing from Jerry and Stephen.

I'll believe they will let Garrett go when I actually see it. The amount of cover and excuse making they have made for him over his tenure is staggering, even when they themselves have questioned coaching decisions, and it tells me they have no intention of moving on from him unless this thing just craters in on itself.

They are too stubborn, too emotionally invested and too blind to make a change unless the he starts spitting out a couple of 4-5 win seasons.

Barring a complete meltdown in 18, Garrett will coach to the end of his contract. That’s two more years I believe.

Oh I can already see a list of excuses for keeping Garrett from jerry starting to build.

1. And a very, or another very lame excuse...we had a lot of new coaching changes under Jason, they need another year to work together.
2. Jerry....yes, I am ignorant and blind to Jason, but hey, I am the owner, what ya going to do about it...
3. Jerry...Jason tells me it is a day to day process.

there will be more

Lol:lmao2:

You will be first in line defending this garbage after yet another failed season just like you have for the last 7

That should have been the case in 2017.

The mark of a quality NFL organization is consistency in making the playoffs. The cowboys have not had back to back playoff seasons since 2006-07. In 7.5 seasons, 2 playoff appearances and 1 playoff win should have been enough to judge Garrett.

If you believe this is Garretts last stand then I’d argue you don’t have a good understanding of our situation with Jerry.

And there’s only one way to hold Jerry accountable which is at the turnstiles at the gate.

As long as we remain #1 in Revenue we’re providing Jerry a seal of approval to carry on with his pursuit to prove he can build a championship team without a HC who'd recieve more credit.

It all depends how the season goes. We ought to be positioned to have a pretty good season coming up. If the team falls flat, it’s likely they make a change. I don’t think it’s as certain as some guys would like to believe.

I think the organization is making decisions that span more than one season the way they’ve been going about things recently. And I don’t think they seriously considered changing coordinators for performance reasons (though I do think that they talked a lot about retaining Eberflus if they could).

That said, the little string of blowouts we went through this year showed it was psossible he could lose the team. If that happens, the Joneses will pretty much have to replace him.

Correct and the fact it’s not tells us what?

But yet we continue to lash out waiting for some kind of Absolution from Jerry.

I think we all see the cause of our demise. Now, given the handicaps that confront us how do we propose to overcome them? That should be our focus exerting our energy towards instead of continuing to beat our heads up against the wall.

Not directed at you Bob as you clearly see our symptoms but I’m using your post as an example to look for solutions within the parameters Jerry will allow.

This I totally agree with.

If you're continuing to put money in Jerry's pocket, you're part of the problem. If you're buying merchandise and attending games, you're supporting a product you don't like.

Go buy a broken cellphone and then complain about how it doesn't work. No different.

This is a feeling I don't share and I'd be interested to know why you feel this way?

I can only hope that there would be some form or accountability. If not, it's obvious where Jerry Jones' true priorities lie.

I’d agree those blowouts are the only certain means which would cause Jerry to make a change if he thought Garrett lost the team so to speak. As I’ve maintained since Jerry named Garrett HC.

So, basically that’s what everyone needs to root for is a complete collapse for a change. Otherwise we need to figure what it would take to overcome our HC and GM.

Jerry is only interested in winning his way . Winning championships isn’t a priority if he doesn’t recieve the credit he’s pursuing. And that’s why he wants a coach like Garrett.

Now , how do you surround Garrett with better asst coaches and more elite talent while keeping them all on the field?

I agree. I feel Jerry and Company saw the success last season with a replacement of the old guard at 2 skill set positions, QB and RB, then had to endure the storm of this season—suspension, new kids on the block in the secondary, injuries, etc., and figured it’s sink or swim for next season with Garrett, Linehan, and Marinelli.

If they don’t see marked improvement, this staff will be replaced.

You don't. 7 years and counting proves it.[/QUOTE]
