The logical solutions most are wanting aren’t viable within the parameters of Jerry’s way.

It’s entirely possible we can’t overcome these obstacles but we should still give it our best shot.

Surely everyone has been is a situation where either with financial or physical limitations you weren’t able to address the problems as you’d like so you came up with alternative plans which you knew while it didn’t address the problem properly was the best means given your options?

With all of the coaching firings and hirings, it sure seems to me, that this really could be Garrett's last season as HC. I was actually surprised Jerry kept both Linehan and Miranelli and not fire at least one of them. So unless Garrett makes a deep playoff run, I suspect Jerry will move on from JG.

Yes.

Jerry wants Dak to have some stability thus Garrett and Linehan stay, and Moore is a voice Dak trusts.

In other words you’ve totally given up. I understand much like many have given up with Jerry.

And your probably right. As long as Jerry is intent on these puppet type coaches our chances are greatly reduced.

You don't. 7 years and counting proves it.

So, you don’t believe anyone has the potential of overcoming until they do .Basically everyone’s a loser until they’re a winner.

Much like the rhetoric we had with Romo. The extenuating circumstances never mattered.

That’s ok. I’m a result oriented kinda of guy myself .But I don’t expect a C student to make an A. Not consistently anyway.

2018 - The coordinators will be the scapegoat but I only see one of them getting replaced at the worst. Most likely Marinelli with talks of his retirement already in place and a potential successor in Kris Richard ready.

2019 - Worst case, Linehan gets replaced

2020 - Team still adjusts to their 2nd year DC and 1st year OC so that will be the excuse ("Give them some time to learn the new system!" says Jerry)

So Garrett will have 3 years of security and built-in excuses ready.

I think it’s likely if our key players can stay on the field we’ll be playoff contenders again next year.

I don’t believe though that we’re going to have as much success as some think we need to. And I’m not sure we ever will within Jerry’s current agendas.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t have 16 meaningful games and potentially a playoff game or two which would surpass any expectations I have for our dysfunctional franchise.

We have been reduced to a mediocre football franchise . I’m not asking to embrace it but simply recognize it and adjust your mentality accordingly if you want to at least try to enjoy this version of the Dallas Cowboys.

Or a "D" coach to win a Super Bowl.

Yeah, that's essentially it.

For me, there are two key components, player talent and coaching.

Until we have the coaching part, any and all player talent won't be enough to overcome it.

Unless this team TOTALY implodes, and with no injury/suspension excuses, Garrett won’t be fired. I’m talking an 0-8 start or maybe a 2-14 finish.

If we simply have another so-so season, I can already hear Jerry rationalizing it away with the excuse that, with all the assistant-coaching turnover, we have to get the new guys up to speed...and that might take a season or two. And there’s still two coordinators to scapegoat...unless Marinelli retires, and then we’ll be in another transition and, of course, this will take time, blah, blah, blah.

I think Garrett is here until Jerry finally says hes stepping down for good. Stephen talks very differently than Jerry about jobs within the staff/players

Nope, it's not his last stand.......after what Jerry said yesterday...............Jason is like Jerry's very own Roger Goodell, he does as he is told and doesn't rock the boat, perfect HC for Jerry........remember Jerry's priority is not winning football games, they're nice when they happen but they're not #1 on his priority list like ours.

Sad but unfortunately true. If wins were a priority to Jerry, Jason would have been gone long ago. When there are butts in the seats (with the way Jerry currently runs this team), why would he make changes?

It is the logical choice and should happen. But we are talking Jerry and his passion to succeed with Garrett...he can't admit failure or a mistake, or even if it is time to move on.
Garrett will be here for quite a while, get used to 8-8 for the next 3 years or more.
Garrett hasn't been 8-8 in many of seasons. Dak just had back to back winning seasons in how many years?

I agree Garrett should be gone, yesterday. But this foolish talk about 8-8 is gone. Now he has a winning season or losing season, no in between

You're partly right. You should have completed the sentence. "Now he has a winning season then a losing season, than a winning season, then a losing season, then a winning season, then a losing season, then a winning season, (please complete the sentence for me)..Nevermind, I'll finish it... "Then a losing season"....

Partly right? Win then losing season?

Last season 13-3 this season 9-7........ How is 7 and 3 losses greater then 9 and 13 wins. That was back to back by the way

won't happen unless the team completely stinks it up. 8 and 8 or especially 9 and 7 is a sign that 'progress is being made' and 'it takes time to implement a new system';
