What is Anthony Hitchens value?

Well he's no Kuechly or Wagner but he can play some. That dang Lb'er coach who may be heading to Indy did a good job with him. Indy has a bunch of needs though, that great wall around Lucky has been a little porous so maybe they'll go big on Bell or Cooper ;)
Eberflus needs some players that speak his language. I hope Hitchens is the first one he calls.

no way a player with hitchen's ability plays for 4 million a year. he's worth considerably more and i'm sure several other teams will make him a generous offer. when hitch and lee are both in the game, our lb's look pretty good. if he goes, which is likely, we'll have big shoes to fill. he'll probably unite with eberflus at indy. no one currently on the team can fill his shoes. as for the draft, quien sabe?

Who is Quien Sabe? Our newest draft gotta have?

IDK, I don't know what fans think. seems most agree with about 4-5 mill over 4 seasons with guarantee. Of course thats like 6 fans out of millions

There's some background around Hitchens (of all players) here that you might not be aware of. One of our more active posters put a flag in the ground on draft day that Hitchens couldn't play and had no business on an NFL roster, and then has systematically downplayed Hitch's contributions for the last four years. So you have a backlog of threads about a competent LB who's improved each of his first four seasons being less effective than he really is.

That aside, I still think Anthony Hitchens gets badly underrated by most Cowboys fans. He's an above-average ILB with position flex. He's a good teammate, a guy who's still only 25 four years in, he's smart, outplays his physical skills, plays hurt, and is the kind of guy you can build a defense around. He makes some of his biggest plays in big moments. I think he's a good player.

I hope we get somewhere with Martin and Lawrence early enough that we can get Hitchens a deal he's happy with before he hits the market. His agent probably doesn't allow that to happen, but sometimes guys are happy with a nice commitment from a team when they're otherwise in a good situation. That probably doesn't happen with Hitch, because he's got Jaylon behind him looking to start eventually, and Lee to the left of him still playing at a higher level than Hitch can play at. We're probably going to let him get to the market, and some team will offer him a bigger deal than we want to pay.

Which is going to suck, because he's one of our better defenders and knows what he's doing. He can fill in adequately for Lee when he inevitably goes out. And Jaylon is not ready, I don't care what the team wants from him. He can't do it yet. That means poking another hole in the defensive roster when we need to be plugging them.

We need guys like Hitch to fill out a roster. But I wouldn’t over pay. We got 10 draft picks. Find 2 quality Lb’s. Sign a veteran and keep it moving.

Yes, I don't do back logs and there is no agenda to my post. It was a serious question. What is he worth to us? Most have answered and I tend to agree with the number, somewhere in the 4-5 million range. Also agree that some one will pay him more. He's a Church-type, not great but dependable and look him now

We're already losing Durant and Wilber. We lose Damien Wilson next year, right? Lose Htich and we're replacing a minimum of 3 LBs. Not to mention we didn't have one for the Rams or Packers games when we needed them last year because Jaylon hasn't actually shown anybody any reason to think he can be a starter in this league. We lose Hitch and we're an inevitable soft-tissue injury away from being unable to cover intermediate routes or play third down defense again. Can't wait.

He's a Church type with fewer physical limitations for his position and 4 years younger. Yeah.

I did say we need guys like Hitch to fill out the roster. But Jerry should not overpay. As he tends to do to the guys he drafts. We have 10 draft picks. And salary cap cash. No reason we can’t overhaul the Lb’s.

OMG, I was asking a simple question! What is his value not opinions of the "player". We all have varying opinions but the value doesn't seem to overly varying. It sort of varies by a million and a year and that's doable with our cap probably.
