Emmitt Smith. Forced to play with the Cardinals, because Dallas went with Hambrick.

It was Brutal. I've been to 2 games at the old stadium, and the first one was that AZ game, when Roy Williams broke Emmitt's collarbone or shoulder. To have that bum, hurt the GOAT and people are cheering for the hit on 22, was like a bad twilight zone episode. That was not really a move, because anyone thought Hambrick was special, that was the standard Parcels move of removing high profile locker room presence's that may undermine him. He should have kept him, that team won 10 games with Hambrick, maybe they win a playoff game too with 22....

OMG you need to stop. Romo wouldn't have lasted thru a full game coming back. He could barely make it thru a quarter of pre-season. You want the guy in a wheelchair? Romo wouldn't have led us anywhere because Dak would have been QB again very quickly when Romo went down, and the backlash of taking out a guy who was 11-1 when Romo came back would have ruined all team chemistry.
Another Dak slobberer in pain, spouting the same excuses. Can’t let it go, even in a thread that is simply people giving their personal feelings. Enjoy your 18th rated passer season, Dak slobber boy.

well recent history it sucked to lose Ware and he went on and got a ring, Romo a close second as i felt bad he didnt get a chance at a ring and deserved it but next up Witten..thats a tough one as hes the consummate cowboy on and off the field..those are hard to let go of..

So me saying Romo would have gotten hurt makes me a Dak lover?? Seems more like you are in pain because Romo is in the booth protecting his broken body from taking a beating for a team that let him down.

MLB Lee Roy Jordan (1963-1976).

HOFer Bob Lilly was the first Cowboy, but Jordan was the heart of the original Doomsday defense...

I think I’ll say Demarco Murray and the funny thing is that I didn’t want Dallas to overpay him so I was okay with letting him walk and it still looks like the right decision but that one hurt.

The fact that I admired the guy, he was a class act on and off the field and he was a machine in 2014 hurt. The fact that he was so close to Romo and Witten hurt. The fact that we chose to replace him with Darren McFadden and no draft pick hurt. The fact that him leaving, in my opinion, contributed heavily on the failed 2015 season hurt.

What hurt the most was the he signed with the Eagles. It felt surreal like when I watched pro wrestling 25 years ago and your favorite wrestler turned heel.

The fact that he almost orchestrated a trade to come back to Dallas a year later stung a bit as well. That just goes to show that he regretted the decision as wel. He signed with Philly out of spite more than the money and once the bitterness wore off, he realized that he made a horrible decision.

No, it makes you sound like a deranged lunatic with a crystal ball who thinks they can predict the future. You have no idea what would have happened. Meanwhile, I do know what happened this season... the worst full season by a Cowboys starter in 15 years. Enjoy it.

In order of departure:
Don Meredith
Bob Hayes
Bob Lily
Roger Staubach
Cliff Harris
Drew Pearson
Harvey Martin
Too Tall Jones
Randy White
Bill Bates
Michael Irvin
Charles Haley
Troy Aikman
Emmitt Smith
Darren Woodson

They won a ton of playoff games and made the Cowboys the envy of the NFL. Been a long time since I felt like I did when we lost one of these guys. Romo...almost made my list but he did little in the playoffs.

Roger and Tony were tough but from the pure love of watching a player give his all and hold nothing back, Bill Bates. The man was so good at his position that he created the pro bowl position for it and inspired his team. I love players that defy the odds.

You could count on Romo being hurt. Just like you can count on Sean Lee being hurt. Dak took hits this year that would have landed Romo in the ER. So please spare me the "dak sloberer" title and come back to reality where Romo's body gave up on him and let him down, most likely because we waited way to long to protect him and allowed him to run for his life for the better part of a decade of his career. Just because I say Romo would get hurt doesn't mean I don't appreciate what he did for this organization. Its just irritating that people say "oh if he came back" bla bla. The injury he sustained in the pre season took him out for the better part of 3 months and it was a nothing hit. Imagine Romo taking the hits Dak did this year, or even last year. He would have died. So just stop it already you sound like the lunatic here not me
