Get Cousins at all costs!

I think Pick Sixs are a side issue and way down on the list of ways a QB should be evaluated but just for kicks I googled the stats.

Dak has a pick six ration of .4% (4 in 949 career attempts), with half of those being balls that hit his WRs in the hands. If you google the numbers, that is a bit higher than average but its the same rate as Roethlisberger and Carson Palmer - even with half of them being balls you can't blame him for -

You can get pick 6 data from pro football reference now... I think when that article was written their play index wasn’t available. I don’t think you can directly compare across seasons/eras because the interception rate has gone way down as time has gone on. I suspect Dak would be really high if you adjusted for era. Romo threw I believe 13 for his career and Dak is already nearly 1/3 of the way there after 2 years. And Romo threw the ball a lot more and started in a higher interception rate era.

Because Dak only threw for 93 yards against the Commanders and people are acting like its proof he’s better than Kirk, let alone the same category..

The team won and the Commanders defense was getting destroyed by our front five while Dak couldn’t complete passes..

And when Dak is this abysmal which Cousins isn’t for consistent stretches, it’s because Smith is out as if Kirk sucks that bad when Trent Williams is out every year..
Who threw a pick 6 to Byron Jones to lose the game

Agree on comparing eras, but IMO the play is too random and flukey to use as any kind of evaluation. I think Romo is a good example of that, his game was always about gambling while Dak's game is efficiency.

Still 3 less than Dak threw all year..

And BTW, that was the first game.. in the second game, our defense generated 4 TOs and Dak could still only throw for 93 years. And he was sacked only once that whole game, meaning plenty of time.

What is the record for Dak against Cousins?

Who outdueled him on turkey day? How about to get his first win last year?

But continue to cherry pick one game, which he still won, to tell us Cousins is better. Cousins is a loser. Poor man's Romo. Very poor version.

Hey Jerry how about you go out and get Cousins and give us a Franchise QB who's got all the talent necessary to take this Team along with Zeke and our offline to the Superbowl! Without a quality QB teams go nowhere (unless they have the 2000 Ravens def) and waiting for Dak to become a Cousins might take forever or simply never happen!

Jerry probably won't so our troubles at QB will continue and continue and continue!!!

I've thought the same thing but was afraid I'd get bashed for it. lol

Lol so now any player who had success on the cowboys is strictly because of Romo?

You act like he was Jesus. Turning water into wine.

Uh I said this from the very beginning, when you claiimed Romo's roster as far superior:

It wasn't a solid offensive line nor was our running game solid. Our OL looked decent because Romo was playing behind it, but even then he was getting sacked upper 30s a season regularly. Leonard Davis was an absolute bust when he came here. COlumbo was a journeyman and average. None of these guys sniffed careers of at most average outside playing with Romo.

Romo never had a running game when he first started and only did at the end of his career.

You claimed Davis was good.. What did he do in Arizona before coming here? What did Gurode do? Why was Romo still getting sacked at close to 40 times a game even when these guys were 'making the pro bowl'?

Your argument is basically, Americas team when they finally start winning and getting more publicity once again, some guys were voted into the pro-bowl by fans, thus proving their 'superior' play compared to all-pro OL who were playing for years together before Dak came....

Apparently getting voted by fans is the same as being selected with all-pro honors..

So the excuses Dak's poor play this year are not because of the team then, but because he absolutely sucked in his own right?

Just as long as you don't blame Dez ot anybody else for the rest of Dak's pathetic play against other teams this season, then I'm fine with you saying that Dak, throwing for 93 yards against the Commanders, qualifies as 'out-dueling' Kirk...

So because this ball may have hit the hands of a WR, it's the WR fault or lessens Dak being at fault? What type of criteria is 'hitting the hands' in relation to a QBs fault?

Is that also Dez's fault not being able to get open and Cole was facing a double-team because Dez could no longer pull double-teams anymore?

Even his throw where he hit Williams in the chest was actually an awful throw which Dak threw behind him where he found a hole in the zone.. Even Aikman said it was a bad throw in the telecast. This is the same type of throw over the middle to Dez, except Dez was still running a crossing route, meaning closer to full speed when Dak put it behind him, but still made excuses like "maybe I needs to throw it at the helmet"..

LOL

Romo was sacked 24 times in 2006. 25 times in 2007.

Which is on par with the sacks given up the past couple of years. By the OL.

But keep trying to sell your “40 sacks a year” BS. Or how that offensive line sucked.

What did Davis do before he got here? Why don't you answer a simple question? So Romo was sacked 24 times in 2006 when he started in WEEK 7 and Bledsoe started and the OL play was getting blasted before he was pulled, nor was Leonard Davis even here is proof of your argument? What happened in 2008, 2009 and 2010 as far as sacks were and this OL started playing together consistently?

Dallas went from 10, 16, 20 in sacks allowed per game in a matter of 3 years with this crew and hovered in the bottom half until when Callahan came. And Dak's had a top 10 and he has the best running game in the league.

How many times was Drew Bledsoe being sacked before he was pulled?

So Romo had no influence on OL play when in 2005, articles such as this abounded:

http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2005/12/05/cowboys-looking-correct-o-line-struggles

Where is this heralded all-pro offensive line Romo walked into that you speak of like Dak's?

And the Romo legend grows each year, like the 310 ft HR I hit in high school which is now approaching 400ft.

Not when his questionable accuracy and establishing rhythm with WRs is a consistent trait of his.

I've thought the same thing but was afraid I'd get bashed for it. lol

He really is. Wreckless with the ball at times. Takes too many ill advised chances. Both never led a team to anything. Also, both seem to get tons of excuses thrown their way for not winning. Both put up stats and that was about it. But Romo was a lot more successful than Cousins will ever be. And that isn't something you want to hear.

So as bad as the o line supposedly was in 2006. They only gave up 5 more sacks than this past years o line did? And that’s with old statue drew Bledsoe playing.

The o line in 2007 gave up less sacks than the o line did last year, 2016.

What Leonard Davis did before Dallas doesn’t matter. Stop with the straw man argument. Many players get better with experience and some also benefit from changes in scenery. What he did in Arizona doesn’t matter. We are talking about the cowboys offensive line as a unit.

Again, the o line wasn’t as good as the current one I have said that multiple times, but you are flat out wrong to say it was a bad o line. All in a pathetic attempt to make it seem like Romo was some god who did everything on his own and didn’t have any help. Which is complete BS. That 2007 team was stacked on offense and defense.

The need to somehow build Romo up like he was some kind of unstoppable god of football who was infallible and made a pile of crap around him, gold, is complete nonsense.

And that’s coming from somebody who owns several Romo jerseys and has always been a supporter of his.

I mean we aren't even talking about running game and run blocking here...

How does Leonard Davis being a bust not matter. It absolutely does matter when your comparing him to this all-pro line.

And your using 25 sacks for not even a full season of Romo and not even talking about how awful these same GUYS, including Gurode, Columbo and Rivera were WITHOUT Romo.

And if you actually take Flozell out of the picture in 2005 with his ACL tear, this OL was an absolute wreck and they gave up 50 sacks that year, 40 after Flozell was hurt in ten games.

We lose Smith, you guys are crying that Dak sucks because of that alone... and he still has Martin, Frederick and guys like Collins...
