Tell #88 to cut down on his drops and miscues. That fixes a lot right there.

Dez certainly has some mental and emotional issues that limit his effectiveness. There is mental toughness and then there is Dez Bryant.

At the same time leadership goes a long way towards managing the mentally weak. As Landry said, "Leadership is getting someone to do what they do not want to do in order to achieve what they want to achieve..

Leadership certainly seemed absent when Zeke was suspended.

A big part of leadership performance is delivering under pressure. Staubach just said he told Dak that confidence was your biggest asset as QB.

Things being worked on in 2018 (one on the "checked" list)

X Dak working on his accuracy
_ Garrett learning how to coach
_ Jones hiring a legit football GM
_ New Coordinators for Offense and Defense

Why didn't he work on his accuracy this year?
That was my thought too.
I guess he didn't need it in 2017
Or it is a process!
1 thing each year lol.

But here's why that's a stupid statement.
You can't practice throwing under pressure, like in a game.
So he can't improve on that the way they practice.

So Dez had 10 drops (which is unacceptable but Julio had 7) if he would've had 6 drop would that have made Dak have a good year? Does that help with his accuracy? Dak is owning up to his responsibility and we've had enough "Dez is a bum" threads already.

Dak spit the bit time and again when he was pressured. His footwork disintegrated and he would dip his elbow and throw from funky arm slots.

He wasn't exactly Aikman or Elway throwing strikes with a pass rusher a step from a big hit.

While you cannot simulate the pressure you can drill mechanics so that they go from second nature to first. Instead of falling back on bad habits in those circumstances you default to the proper mechanics.

He looks like a young Bellicheat.

That 30 for 30 on the two Bills was pretty good.

Per interview, Dak states that accuracy is ONE of the areas he will work on next year.
Go cowboys!

That is interesting to hear! He missed bad on a lot throws, have to go back and look at tape but it could be his footwork, mechanics or could be adrenaline and being nervous feeling pressure. You can work on footwork and mechanics but pressure you cant. Remember last year Dak had 6 sec to throw and this year he was only getting the 4 sec. I think what he needs to do is work in the off season throwing quick hitting timing routes to his WRs in the 10 to 20 yard range. Should also practice just as much throwing to Zeke on screens so he catches it in stride. Dak has a LOT to work on!

Whatever. Dude talks a big game. All last off-season we heard from him how he wouldnt have a sophomore slump and he was going to work on every aspect of his game, only for him to come back worse.

Less talk and more results, Rayne.

This is a make or break year for Garrett. Let’s see if dak can bounce back and save his job. Or do we want to miss playoffs and have dak start over in a new system with new head coach.

Where was that calm Dak that played in 2016? After Denver raped Dallas last year Dak and Zeke lost their mojo!

Seems confidence was a major issue last dew games. There were times it seems like he didn't trust his OL, WR or even himself.

He can talk about accuracy all he wants. The elephant in the room is how he handles games when he's pressured often. So he either doesn't see it (and no one has pointed it out to him), or doesn't want to admit it.

In games when pressured on less than 40% of dropbacks
2016
287 of 403 (71%) 3378 yd 22 td 2 int 112.5
2017
147 of 233 (63%) 1798 17 td 1 int 109.3

In games when pressured on 40% or more of dropbacks
2016
48 of 94 (51%) 591 yd 4 td 3 int 71.7
2017
161 of 257 (63%) 1526 yd 5 td 12 int 66.1

His accuracy dropped 8% when not pressured. That is not insignificant.
