I'm sure he did but it's about focus. He talked last season about making faster reads before and after the snap. When he came out and threw the ball all over the place the first few games he said he had not spent enough time on fundamentals.

It's not uncommon but there is a reason why the best coaches start every new season by reinforcing the fundamentals first.

Really this is an indictment of how he was coached. Garrett and Linehan should have known better. They give lip service to the method but the proof is in the pudding. Going through the motions doesn't get the job done.

It's not about focus, and it's not about Dak. It's about poor player development. Since we won his first year, this poor coaching staff let him get by w/ poor fundamentals. We've been doing this for years, and it's horrific coaching.

Maybe I should date Romo!

Jessica has only gone on to have a billion dollar business now, and Carrie Underwood is now the hottest thing in country music.
,,,er,,,:lmao2:,,,maybe you should start out with baby steps first Aven8,,,like maybe walking his dog or cutting his grass,first,,,o_O

This is a make or break year for Garrett. Let’s see if dak can bounce back and save his job. Or do we want to miss playoffs and have dak start over in a new system with new head coach.
Why do you feel this is a make or break year for Garrett? Jerry is never predictable.

Telling people what they want to hear. Didn't he work with a QB guru last off season? What did they work on? Accessorizing with bow ties?

As opposed to what? What should he have said. He was asked a question and answered it.

Whatever. Dude talks a big game. All last off-season we heard from him how he wouldnt have a sophomore slump and he was going to work on every aspect of his game, only for him to come back worse.

Less talk and more results, Rayne.
Dak has confidence. That’s a good thing. Considering the terrible play of our backup tackles, Garrett refusing to consistently help his terrible backup tackles, Dez continuing to drop passes and not get any seperation, and Garrett’s simple and predictable passing game philosophy, I think Dak played pretty well. Football is a team game where coaching is extremely important. Dak’s team mates did not play as well this year, or were suspended, and his coaching staff did not consistently put him in position to make plays. It’s very difficult for Dak to make plays consistently when he is running for his life. See Atlanta, Seattle games etc.

In 70% of games played in 2017, the QB was pressured on less than 40% of his dropbacks. Here are each player's passer ratings in those games.

2017

from clean pocket
Smith 119.6
Prescott 115.4
Goff 114.9
Brees 113.4
Keenum 110.6
Wilson 109.4
Stafford 109.4
Wentz 109.2
Cousins 106.3
Rthlsbrgr 103.4
Brady 100.8
Ryan 100.3
Rivers 99.7
Carr 99.5
Winston 95.4

when pressured
Brady 116.1
Prescott 92.3
Keenum 83.7
Winston 81.4
Wentz 81.3
Stafford 80.0
Cousins 79.4
Goff 77.2
Smith 74.0
Ryan 66.8
Brees 59.2
Rivers 57.8
Rthlsbrgr 57.7
Wilson 52.7
Carr 50.4

That's how Prescott compared to other QB when the amount of pressures was low-to-above average in a game. If Dak's accuracy problems or bad mechanics only cause him to play poorly in games when he's pressured an inordinate amount of times in a game, then his real issue isn't mechanics or accuracy -- it's his inability to deal with being pressured an inordinate amount of times in a game.

Wow. Just wow.

Dude had 6 games with 0 passing Tds (we were 2-4 in those games).

Cowboys fans need to do better. We are talking about the Dallas Cowboys here. The biggest franchise in sports. Settling and being content with that kind of play at the QB position is insane.
