No question about it as he was emphatic that he would be his own Tex Schramm. Had he ever owned anything and not run it? There's a very good reason why he sought out the other maverick in the NFL as his mentor. And followed suit suing the other owners.I really don’t think Jerry would be interested in owning the Cowboys if he couldn’t play ball. He really hasn’t swerved much from his intentions initially.
The funny part about all of this discussion about being his own GM is from a bunch of GM wannabes. You kiddin', own a NFL team and not play with it? Not me, I am neck deep in that. I might hire GM's to fire ever so often to deflect the blame and I sure as hell would have pulled the plug on that forum when it turned on me but I would run it.
The difference is I would be more on the risk side than reward as Booger is with players but when you really think about it, what is his risk? There really isn't any and he knows that if he'd have drafted Moss, he would have been fine. He was something back then that he is not now, subject to public opinion.
