Would Eagles have won the SB with Foles all season?

The 27-2 season was also kind of a fluke.

It was the first year of the Chip Kelly experiment and teams simply struggled to figure out how to defend that offense. Once they did, it became more pedestrian. Remember, Foles also was QB for a decent part of the 2014 season under Kelly and was mostly pedestrian because teams figured out the Kelly offense and as such Foles struggled going from 27-2 to 13-10 before getting hurt.
In his second season with Chip Kelly, Foles led the Eagles to a 6-2 record with 14 TD before getting hurt.

Last year in KC, Foles played in 3 games with 1 start, and had a 105.7 passer rating with 3 TD and no INT.

Hype. He shouldn't have been.
Nick Foles led the NFL in passer rating that season, posted the 3rd greatest passer rating in NFL history that season, had the greatest TD to INT ratio in NFL history that season, the lowest INT % in NFL history that season, and the best single TD passing game in NFL history that season- and he did it in 12 starts.

Nick Foles also posted the greatest single month QB passer rating record in NFL history that month (Nov, 2013, 140+ passer rating)

If Dak Prescott threw 27 TD's and 2 INTs in just just 12 games, there's not a poster on this site that would not think he had a MVP caliber year.

Foles career passer rating for the eagles is 92.7, which is the highest in franchise history.
His rating in 3 games for the chiefs, with 1 start, was 105.7

He looked horrible with the StL rams, but so did Jared Goff who is one of the great young stars of the NFL, and Case Keenum- who just led his team to a 13-3 record and an NFC championship game.

I don't blame any QB for numbers he put up in StL, when the team had a coach named Jeff Fisher who regularly sabotages QB's careers.

Look what he did to Vince Young.
Did you miss it when Young sucked everywhere else?

Funny you should mention him, he's another who had shortterm success by dumping short passes. He's on the opposite side of what you're trying to prove!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fisher utterly destroyed Young's career.

The other QB's i mentioned were lucky enough to escape his grips before he fully destroyed them.

Nick Foles game is deep bombs, not short passes. Did you even watch the playoffs, or his 2013 season?

10 starts.

You know what's funny? How you tout his passer rating to proclaim his greatness in one season, and his win total in another!!!!! You should really try not to be so obvious in cherry pickin' those stats!!!!!

No he didn't. Not being a good enough passer destroyed Vince's career.

Seriously, where do you get this stuff from?

Foles was a stud in the super bowl, of that there is no doubt. Has he done enough to proclaim him a top 10 starter, that is the question.

Vince sure looked like a great passer in the NCAA championship game, when he won the National title.

Where do i get this stuff from, oh, i dunno....from statistics.

Cherry picking stats...right...cause Nick Foles stats and records aren't overwhelmingly good for the number of games he's played.

LOL. In 2014 he threw 13 TDS and 10 interceptions. 81.4 rating. Hardly the great play you are attempting to spin.

Stop. It’s embarrassing.

Including his second season as a starter under Chip Kelly, Foles had the best TD to INT ratio in NFL history after 25 starts.

That is a fact. Foles career int %, even including his time in StL, is 2.1%, with a TD % of 4.4
Those are very good numbers, they are almost identical to Wentz career numbers in these stats, of 4.7% TD and 2% INT.

And the bottom line is wins....Foles was 6-2 in his second year under Kelly, before getting hurt.

His 2014 stats were definitely not helped by the fact that Chip Kelly cut his no1 weapon, DeSean Jackson.

You can skew the stats anyway you want.

Foles was an average QB in his second season under Kelly largely because the league figured out Kelly’s up tempo style and his system.

No. It was because Kelly got rid of all the talent! Jackson, McCoy and Evan Mathis.

If the Eagles didn't have Wentz, or he had been hurt in preseason, do you think the Eagles would have gotten their championship with Foles as the starter all 16 regular season games?

Foles and his ultimate result was a product of how things unfolded. (The last couple of years, months, weeks and days) I’m convinced. (He said as much)

So, no. I don’t believe they win it all with him as starter all year.

Foles is a pretty good QB. I think he is better than Wentz (the most overrated thing in the NFL). He proved he was very good in 2013. His surrounding parts just weren't what he had this season. I don't think the Eagles would have won it all if Wentz hadn't went down. Foles can make throws Wentz can't and is more accurate.

But Wentz is younger and is the golden boy of this league for some reason so they are going to stick with him. Even though Dak hasn't did anything Wentz hasn't. Well except finish last place and not complete a season. Shrugs.

so is what people are saying is that Wentz is a guarantee to have better stats than Foles and win a super bowl. unless u have a crystal ball or time travel, Foles deserves credit for his actual accomplishment.
amazing how hard some will try and diminish what he has done. Foles does have a resume. better than other super bowl QBs. Wentz is no absolute.
we shall see

That's not really the discussion here. The discussion is could the Eagles have done the same thing over a full season with Foles and not Wentz?

I don't believe so. Because Foles has shown throughout his career that he can be wildly inconsistent. IMO, there is little chance the Eagles go 13-3 and lock up home field with Foles as the QB all season. And I think being at home all playoffs was a big boost to the Eagles, especially when you see that their defense was an entirely different defense on the road compared to being at home.

And if you want to take the discussion a bit further, I think its hilarious that there are apparently Eagles fans who think the team should turn the keys over to Foles full time and possibly trade Wentz. Egads.

Which throws?

And Wentz was the golden boy of the league because he was putting up great stats and was one of the best QBs in the league before he got hurt.

Your hatred of Wentz is bizarre.

Which throws? Go look at the throws Foles made in the Super Bowl. Wentz is not making those throws. This is the second time around Foles has showed he can be one of the most accurate QBs ever. Not a fluke.

So why isn't Foles now the golden boy? The Eagles didn't lose a meaningful game once Foles stepped in and won it all. Wentz is nothing special. People trash Dak but praise Wentz. That is bizarre.

The suck fest Wentz gets on here is disgusting. But people will soon realize he's nothing special.
