Cowboys 2017 cash spending lowest in NFL?

Ok that's what I figured. This is about to have Cowboy fans in a uproar as if it means we don't spend anything towards the cap like the rest of the teams lol. Ahh well....
I was confused, but I think I'm getting with the program on this subject.

True but I focused on the playoff teams.......after the Giants, there about six in middle. Coincidence?
there is no true correlation.
that was fake news promulgated by people who are really bad at math and really big on agenda.

Dallas was virtually the same exact spend and rank in the 4-12 season as the 13-3 season.

You are confused because people are posting and have no idea what they are talking about tbh.

Dallas had 13M in dead money last year which was the worst number in football.
Only 2 teams had over 5M.
So Dallas couldn't spend that cash because it was gone.

They chose to save their cap money and recover so they've now added supplemental picks and roller over 20M in cap space tho this year.

In order to spend high one year you gotta be low another.
Otherwise you'll forever be in the middle unless you take a bad hit on a guy like Romo retiring earlier than expected.

Thank you sir!

DAL took unreasonably large caps on Dez, Witten and Crawford....... they spent an extra 18m they didn't have to on the cap

Everyone complains when it is Dead Cap but spending 30m instead of paying 11m is the exact same thing ....... dumb people want to avoid Dead Cap space by taking huge present day cap hits for no reason

That is space that could be spent on improving the team....... there is no other way to spin it

If you add that wasted 18m to the 11m we carried over and that is 30m in cap space wasted

Stephen has everyone fooled that being a good drafting team excuses him from spending any money on Free Agents

Why the heck we keep struggling with the cap.......Romo's retired, paying our starting QB pennies, we're about the ask one ofthe team's high paid player to take a pay cut. Just seem odd ....

See Dez and Witten's contract. That should help clear things up why our cap room sucks. See also T. Crawford.

That's not what that chart shows at all.
It is exactly what it shows

We were one of the last teams to reach the 89% floor during the first 4 year section from 2013-2016

Instead of using our huge cash reserves as an asset we act like a small market CIN team

And it exhausting trying to explain it to you Front Office sycophants that lap it up like trained pack mules over and over again

The beauty of the salary cap is that maximizes profitability to the owners/league but the NFLPA and the players don't seem to get that.

About 10% of the Cowboys 2017 salary cap was dead money, mostly Tony Romo - gone, but still taking up cap space. Another 30% of it went to Dez, Witten, Tyrone Crawford and Sean Lee. In short, that's 4 active players for 40% of our cap space.

That left 60% of the cap to fill out the rest of the roster.

Cowboys:
2015 - $152,290,828 $159,146,626 1.2686
2016 - $154,365,271 $156,046,488 1.0346
2017 - $131,928,964 $144,777,789 1.0873
2018 - $114,965,124 $114,965,124 0.7351

So the numbers show they were over the ratio of 1.0 in the previous years.

The owners can hold back a lot of CAP $$$$$ and only have to spend up to a certain % of that over a 5 year averaged period.
So the owners keep the extra $$$$$ back and may use it later.
