Sherman has had two Achilles injuries and the last one was in November. He may not even be ready to start the 2018 season. Even before he was injured in November you could see he wasn’t the same player. He could be done.

This reeks of Darrell Revis in his last year in the league.

I could be wrong here but this just seems like a situation where he's going to get big money for a team to find out he's not longer the guy he use to be. Even when healthy last year he wasn't either.

When you start dealing with foot and knee injuries as a corner after 30......the odds are against you.

Remember last off season when multiple multiple posters wanted to trade our 1st for Sherman.

Hahahahaha good times

I have to admire the Seahawks courage to let go of all these "big names" .. when it's time to go, it's time to go

Maybe we can learn a thing or two when considering Dez's situation ..

If this was last off season and we got rid of everyone like we did and looked like we were fixing to head into the 2017 season playing a ton of rookies I would have said let’s take what we offered carrol and juice it a few more mill and get this guy

This year I don’t touch a guy who is coming off a bad injury who has such a strong personality who probably won’t play nearly as well

Was Sherman a great corner? Sure, no doubt. But he's no spring chicken, is rehabbing a significant injury, and you have to factor in that he played on a defense with Bennett, Thomas and Chancellor. Gotta be careful, was he great solely because of his abilities, or was he great because he played with a bunch of top teammates?

At his age, you don't want to risk finding out he's only average (assuming he returns to pre-injury form) after paying him a fat contract. Just remember Greg Hardy, besides the image problem he never did much at Dallas. Neither did Thornton, or Zach Thomas or many others.

You get free agents like Haley, top players in the prime of their career, not a bunch of old castoffs...

A chance to make another dumb FA signing? YES!

Both achilles operated on. No thanks.

Coming off this latest Achilles injury I can’t see anyone paying Sherman big money. He was already showing signs of decline and Achilles injuries are very difficult to come back from, plus this one happened in Nov which could affect his 2018 season. Revis was coming off an ACL but still played pretty well after it. He had 5 INT’s in 2015 before his game really tailed off. Sherman could be looking at a one year prove it deal just to see what he has left. Coming off two Achilles injuries puts him in a difficult situation.

Not true at all.
We want this FO to offset the draft with smart moves in FA and trades when possible. This would not be a smart move.
In no way are MOST people here just grumbling cause "other teams" are making moves so Dallas should.
We, including myself, just want them to use all avenues open, Draft, FA and Trades - where it makes sence. Not just pidgeon-hole themselves into this draft only approach.

I suspect we are linked to him because the FO wants us to be linked to him so it looks like we are taking FA seriously.

Given the age and injury issue, he’d be a pass for me.

Superb corner and did it on smarts and not athleticism...will still be valuable in this league.

I want Sherman only to see him make garret a capon on the sideline.

Adding to your team what’s left of a player isn’t going to get you anywhere. Some seem to think you can turn back the clock on these players. When the Cowboys added Charles Haley to the team back in 92 he was in the prime of his career at 28 years old. Richard Sherman was already coming down prior to this latest Achilles injury. He could be done and if Is able to continue his career he won’t be close to what he was. An Achilles injury is one of the most serious injuries a player could have. Very difficult to come back from those.
