Why I'm not freaking out. Yet

I feel like we are gonna make one huge move this off season. A big shakeup.
We are running out of big moves to make. Looks like bargain basement free agent signings and relying on the draft to me. Poor Will McClay should have left when he had the chance. Jerry will give Will McClay a couple of million dollars to sling around at free agents and then everyone will blame McClay for not bringing in anyone worth a flip.

Even a trade or a release

This is why im somewhat freaking out. we need more than a player or two. We need better depth at tackle, guard, LB, RB, and DT. The only person on this team last year that actually was somewhat capable of being the "next man up" just went to KC for 9 mil a year. i don't think the draft can solve all of these problems.
What your forgetting is every team has a similar wish list. You can't have Pro Bowlers at every position, so you just have to hope that those bargain basement deals Dallas is now famous for pans out. It could happen...

The only hope we have for a big trade is if Earl Thomas would start pulling a "Terrell Owens" with Seattle and Seattle dropped their asking price to get him out of dodge. Of course, if it happened then Goodell would turn around and suspend ET for conduct detrimental to the league because he was traded to Dallas. lol

I'm not freaking out over anything the Cowboys do or don't do.It has no bearing on my life.
And after 20 years I know exactly what I am getting with this organization.

don't need a probowler at every position, but i do want something better than what we got. outside of maybe hitchens, when was the last time a starter got hurt on this team and their backup was either close to average or better? miles austin? romo? lol

What's there to "freak out" about? We see a FO of nearly 3 decades that still don't know how to play the game.......both on and off the field.

Jerry has spent over 2 decades to try and show everybody that it was him and not Jimmy who built the 90's SB team, but as each year passes it proves that it indeed WAS Jimmy as most of us already knew.

Jerry, when you first bought the team you made the statement "winning is the name of the game".....what happened to your philosophy on that? You lie as much as another "leader, lol" I can think of.

If Lawrence and Irving play at their best, it's not a lost off season. Filling the hole left by hitch needs to be addressed. Probably via the draft. Then wr.

You guys keep bringing up the Patriots who are one of the best organizations of all time and the Eagirls who have shown you 1 year of looking like a solid team. Those are the two teams you guys hang your hat on. Not perennial playoff teams like the Packers(when Aaron is healthy) or Steelers.
Packers - Aaron Rodgers 20m
Steelers - big Ben 20m
Cowboys- dak 600k

See the differece....

We SHOULD have wiggle room to make a play. We have 2 years until dak gets the $$$$. Let's go for it...

It's March. There's no reason for anyone to freak out. But my enthusiasm gets more tempered each year the Cowboys don't seriously contend.

Here are Watkins numbers........technically the only money he will def see is 10M per year. This may explain the Cowboys offering the same contract money wise. It would have been 2M less than Dez for a 24-year-old WRs

3/13/2018: Signed a three-year, $48 million contract. The deal includes $30 million guaranteed.

I'm not freaking out because I'm conditioned to believe the Cowboys will not win anything. Just making the playoffs has become an accomplishment for the team and I believe that goal is possible this year. Low expectations (or I should say realistic expectations) bring a certain calm with them. The team is doing what I expect them to do.

From my experience, it's best to freak out early, just in case, so you don't end up regretting it earlier.

That way, when people say you should have expected the Cowboys to move slowly at the start of free agency becasue they do it EVERY SINGLE YEAR UNDER JASON GARRETT, you can just say they should stop being homers and defending Jerry and that you just have higher expectations for your team than they do and don't tolerate mediocrity. That lets you get in a little smugness, which is fun, and there's no downside unless you care about losing your **** for no reason each and every offseason like clockwork.

You is a sassy one. I like it

I'm thinking the Rams are really going to light things up this year, two great adds to that D.

The point is, right now as it stands, every team has a number of positions they are looking to fill. Dependent on how this offseason goes, from a roster standpoint, they may end up better or worse than Dallas, but they won't have answers they love at every position. And neither will Dallas. That's where coaching comes in and it is anybody's guess (for the exception of the naysayers and complainers) where that will get Dallas. Here's hoping the cattle-prod Jerry is using on Jason and company yields some results.
