I am just stating facts.........Romo never lost 4 games by 20 or more points in any season he started every game................Dak has.

Just stating facts.;)
Who cares? Romo got this team nowhere through his faults and no faults of his own.
Dak will do the same, most likely. Except be less successful, behind center.

LMAO this thread is absurd. Nothing like a good ole' Tony Romo discussion to make people go cazy. It's downright insane to see how far fans will go to either defend him or trash him.

The Romo years were a big whatever to me, looking back.
Nothing, of any import, happened.

You try again. The Packers scored more on a per drive basis than the Pats did, thus they shredded the opposing defense as much as if not more than the Pats did to the Eagles. Yes, the Pats had a lot more yards due to it being a much faster paced game, but that is meaningless.

That’s laughable! Are you serious? I’ve seen fans try and twist and spin things to fit their narrative but this is pretty amusing. Romo attempted only 19 passes in that game for only 191 yards, while Foles who was having to keep up with Brady’s torrid pace attempted 43 passes for 373 yards. Foles not only had to throw 3 TDs to stay with Brady but he had to catch a TD. The Pats set two SB records for passing yards and total yards and still lost despite scoring 33 points, which is the most points a SB loser has ever scored.

I'll never forget Foles busting through the line and forcing that strip sack to seal the game at the end. A legend was born before our very eyes.

The strip sack at the end wouldn’t have sealed anything had Foles not played out of his mind. His great play put them in a position to seal the game with a strip sack. That was one of the few plays his defense made in that game to help him.

The difference is there’s not a thread every week bashing him. IMOF, I can’t remember seeing the title of a thread bashing him in years but there is thread stroking him every week.

There’s a sick obsession and love affair with a QB that hasn’t played professional football in over two years and won’t be coning back EVER. As I said earlier, it’s not as much people bashing him it’s more they’re sick of the repetitive threads over someone that hasn’t been relevant in 2 years nor will he be.

Is that because a large majority like to live in the past and talk about how great things “used to be”? Or how they won’t stop talking about a “catch”? Or because they continue to have a middle school like crush on a retired QB and won’t stop talking about him?

Honestly, what do you mean? Those are some of my top criticisms and the ones I hear most about from fans of other teams. After seeing threads like this and Dez “catch” threads I can’t argue with them.

The "past" is all we got left now, so reminiscing about the "good old days" is what we have been reduced to.

What else is there to talk about? How Dallas is the only team in the NFL to not sign a single free agent this year (it was Dallas and Pitt, but Pitt just signed Bostic from the Colts). Or how about lets discuss how close the team is to winning a title since we have had nothing but deep playoff runs lately, lol. Or how about lets talk about Garrett finally getting this team over the hump and winning that elusive 2nd playoff game that is as rare in these parts as wild dingoes, lol.

Stood toe to toe with one of the most prolific passing attacks that day. Still pissed at Escobar for drifting on his route and letting that LB undercut him.

Escobar, taken one pick before L. Bell, ouch. I remember early in training camp hearing reports sating he would at least a year, probably two in the weight room before he would be ready for NFL competition. Two years for a second round draft pick to be ready to compete. Then again a tight end being taken in the second round when JW is your starter has always been a black hole for this team. Good thing we have hit on most of our first rounders because some of those second round picks....yikes.

Well move on then. Is someone forcing you to open and read a thread that is clearly about Romo?

Follow your own advice and move on.

Exactly...................this was a nice appreciation thread that was started to highlight one of Romo's best games, despite the team losing.

But of course, the Romo haters come out of the wood work and have to piss all over it.

This was about how you said Romo's defenses never got shredded in "elimination games" like the Pats did to the Eagles in the Super Bowl. Let's get back to the original point that started this conversation, Romo's last playoff game he had a defense that was beat worse than the Eagles defense based on points per drive which is the best way of telling how bad a defense was beat. Go ahead and go back to start talking about how yards and overall points and whatever else you want to talk about to shift away from this point.

I'd rather see a Roger Staubach appreciation thread if we are reminiscing .............

This thread not only points to the disappointment of this season but the sad state of the franchise. You have many gushing over great plays by Romo in games the Cowboys lost. Much of this fan base is still stuck on a QB that had a 2-4 playoff record. Some are so put off with Dak they’re ready to move on and use a high draft pick on another QB or start Rush next season who’s never taken a regular season snap.

Thank god they're not managing the roster.

I don't see many Troy Aikman appreciation threads and he helped deliver the last 3 Lombardis for this team.

No... it's Romo. That guy. The modern day Danny White.

Edit: He never even helped his team get as far as Danny! I know... not his fault.

It’s hard to build an appreciation thread based on handing off the ball and playing terrible once your pre-free agency superteam is brought back down to earth.

This fool is garbaging the last guy to help take his team and win Superbowls...
I can't wait for his next post.

Aww, don’t cry. If it makes you feel any better, I really did appreciate the handing off.

I repeat the Cowboys defense has never been shredded in an elimination game like Philly’s defense was shredded against the Pats in the SB. I’m providing a fact! You’re continuing to spin nonsense. Getting shredded comes down to yards and points! NE put up 200 more yards and 7 more points on Philly in the SB than the Packers put up on us in the 2014 playoffs. You would have better success using the Minnesota debacle in 09.

To put in perspective what Philly overcame in the Super Bowl, the Cowboys have never given up a 500 yard passing performance in franchise history. The 500 yard performance by Brady was only the second time he’s ever passed for 500 yards in a game. Not many teams in the history of the league have overcome 500 yard passing performances to win games, especially when those yards lead to 3 passing TDs and 33 points.
