Strange it has been around a long time The Seattle game was one this season guess who choked? And no his name does not start with an R

Its been around a long time? Really? I guessed I missed it.

Where do I go to find a listing of every QBs record in "elimination games"? In fact, I am curious what Marcus Marriota's record is in elimination games for the Tennessee Titans. Where do I go to find that since its been around a long time, as you say?

The very first postseason drive at home for the cowboys in 10 years and Aikmans first start in the post season. Throws his first TD.

Getting up on a team early at home. What a concept.

Also 0-2 in "elimination games" or "win and go home games" or whatever that nonsense was.

Yes, he is. I stated that earlier in the thread. The team can’t ever win anything if they can’t win an elimination game, regardless of how well they may play up until that point. Apparently our fanbase seems to think “elimination” games count just the same as any other game on our schedule. Pretty soon, we are going to start thinking winning preseason games is an accomplishment. The level of accepting mediocrity has infesting this franchise from Jerry Jones all the way down to the fans.

I can’t believe people can’t see the importance of winning elimination games just for the sake of trying to defend a player.

Just out of curiosity, are you a big Garrett fan too?

I actually feel sorry for Dak...............a lot fans (not me) hate Dak because he is the one that took Romo's job and even when Romo asked the organization if he could compete for the starting job, he was told no. So, if it was not for Dak, Romo would have got his job back.

Ergo, its Dak's fault Romo is gone.............bottom line is that unless Dak wins a ring for this franchise, he will always be hated by a large segment of the fan base. And yes, there are some that are actively rooting for Dak to suck because they don't want the QB that replaced Romo to succeed.

I don’t feel sorry for Dak. The expectation of winning should never go away. Fans who hate Dak because of Romo are pretty easy to identlfy. I mean, when they go out of their way to argue over any statement that isn’t extreme praise for Romo but then turn around and blast Dak it isn’t hard to tell.

You could probably start a thread saying “Romo wore “9” and these Romo fanatics would probably say something ridiculous like “So you’re saying Romo couldn’t win a Super Bowl because he wore #9. Drew Brees wore #9 and he won a Super Bowl. You’re a moron. Did you watch the games?”

You need to get off the "Hate" Bus my fellow Boys fan! Highly doubt anyone hates Dak so don't use that word to hide what a lot of us do feel about Dak and the words here are LACK OF CONFIDENCE that we have that he has the talent level to make us a WINNER and be our Franchise QB for the future!

That's all folks.......Make love not War baby!

You have hated Dak from the beginning. If your “lack of confidence” started last year when he started playing poorly, then I could believe you but you can try to sell that crap you just posted to someone else. I know better.

Good point...............Until it was applied to Romo, I had never heard of "records in elimination games" before.
It’s what happens when something unusual occurs to a player/team. It’s a pretty big deal when 2 opponents meet in week 17 with the winner moving on to the playoffs and the loser going home. For a team to have had 4 of those games in a 6 year stretch is amazing. The last 3 were all played on Sunday night as the final regular season game. It essentiallly was the beginning of the playoffs because the stakes were the exact same.

We never heard “one and done” applied to a player either, until Peyton Manning had an uncanny number of zero win playoff appearances that made it stand out and draw attention to it.

When does this start applying to our genius head coach?

He has been a part of postseason or last season failure as well, in fact 8 yrs worth.......................when does he start getting the Romo treatment?
In one of the "Everything is JG's fault" threads. Keep up!

To give another perspective of the importance of these elimination games, just take a look at our week 17 win over Philly this past year. That win technically counted just as much as as every other win on the record but it was meaningless since our season was already over. It was regular season game but was more like a preseason game in terms of relevancy. But, hey, Garrett fans can claim he had a “winning record”.

Yeh it's pappy, northerncowboy, and gpcowpolk. They really provide nothing to any of these conversations, they are still hurt that Dak took Romo's job. We all gave romo more than 2 seasons to show what he can do we should do the same for Dak. I used to say it on the other forums, there are other reasons why some won't cheer for Dak and I'll leave it as that.

This thread shows why Dallas has a 4-12 fan base.

Worst in all of professional sports. It's truly embarrassing to be a Cowboys fan. All the jokes about us are true.

I agree, but I think we are seeing the same thing from different angles, but I think we are really an 8-8 fanbase. We will settle for that as long as our pet player/coach doesn't get blamed for it.

We would love to see you make that argument so we can laugh in your face as always.
I mean it’s not like Romo’s numbers in December aren’t publically available, and we can’t see that if his whole career was just his December numbers, he would be the 9th highest rated passer in NFL history. It’s also not like December is any different than October, or any other month with regular season games. But please carry on with your low IQ argument. Should be fascinating...
He has one the higher December QB ratings in NFL history. The man wasn't perfect, for sure...but he was damn good.
There were some years though, where the cumulative affect of the absolute beating that he took throughout the season left him playing injured in December.
That was case fairly often, actually.
