Signed by Cowboys Allen Hurns, Cowboys Agree To 2-Year Deal

Yea, that doesn't make much sense...............I don't see how WR is an option early in the draft now with what we got.

Unless we are going to trade or release somebody.

Looking more and more like oline in the first since we have two major holes...........LG and swing T

I don’t get what they’re doing at WR at all, but maybe it becomes clearer later.

We’ll probably sign an OT3 and backup C/G in VFA still. And maybe an ILB (Bowman) and hopefully a S (Boston?) for the defense.

That leaves a big hole at LG and maybe at S if we don’t sign one for the draft. After that we can move around taking some players.

Or, viewed another way, your refusal to consider that Dez is a lesser player than Hurns may make you look like a narrow minded, rose colored glasses fool that sticks his head in the sand because you don't want it to be true.

What is is or is not is the subject or reasonable debate. It may be possible that Dez may be able to pull it together, but at the best he is a weak minded, slacker if he bounces back after coasting for three years after getting paid. At worst he is a weak minded cancer who is "done". We will probably eventually find out.

You should enlarge your view. It's a pretty narrow slice of the world.
I mean....you're wrong.

If Dez goes we have little to nothing at wideout. Sorry. I pulled him to pieces at times during the season but he us by far and away our too wideout...
I think either or both if twill and Beasley are gone
What savings do we get by cutting them

Exactly............it saves us virtually nothing to cut Twill thanks to his contract, in fact I think it is actually cheaper on the cap to keep him than release him this year due to the dead money that would accelerate.

So unless we can work out a trade, Twill is pretty much here by default this season.
That’s why the trade will be bease

Well you do have great knowledge in this sport and I respect your opinions even when I disagree. It's great to agree, that just further shows we are right haha

Hey thanks! I appreciate that!

Same here. It might get heated sometimes, but I always try to respect others, even when I may vehemently disagree and it might not feel like it.

I really thought Dez was going to be gone, especially after they tried to sign Watkins for $15 mill a season.

However, I am starting to change my mind. I think they are planning on keeping Dez and these WR additions as well. Which I don't really understand because the problem was not Dez getting double teamed every play so we need new receivers to pull the coverage off Dez. In many games, Dez is just single covered, so there is no coverage to pull off Dez with these new WR additions.

Its puzzling, I got to admit.........With that being said, I do like the Hurns signing........when healthy, he is pretty good.

Well, it starts with only needing $2.5 million to sign rookies not 7. Please stop spreading the false panic. And yes, re-signing Martin would lower this year’s cap hit and those future years you’re talking about? They come with $10 million dollar raises every year along with rollover, never mind the yearly shuffling of the roster opening up space. Your fear of the cap is misguided and uninformed.
Where you getting 2.5? It costs about that for just the first rounder.

Lol... good gracious man! Learn self editing.
If both are cut, no savings. Beasley can save some money, but not TWill. He would have to be traded.

Rule of 51. Only the top 51 count against the salary cap in the offseason. New additions replace the least expensive player. As it currently stands, that is $555k. In that case, only the Cowboys top 4 round picks would count against the top 51, replacing said lowest player.

Therefore, only the Cowboys first 5 picks would count against the salary cap. Netting against the lowest 5 all at 555k is $2.348 million.
