I remember, I guess around here, that part of the 70s never left is all.

You post confused me! You said, "this was an actual thing?" (thinking, you've never seen this) Then you say, I can still go to someone's house and see it.

Pagers

I remember. When I got my first pager in the I don't know. Late 80s early 90s. My GF at the time used to page me 1111111111 off and on throughout the day and she used to say it meant the "UGLY L WORD!!!"
Hospitals still use pagers

I didn't realize that it was a style thing that people actually tried to create a look for. Around here, if you don't have the lettuce, you use 2x4's from Dad's garage and Cinder Blocks that Dad keeps by the shed to prevent the Dogs from digging out of the Pen and you make a TV stand. Then you include a TV stand (and sometimes a new TV) on your Christmas List.

LOL.....

I remember when bike radios were a thing. I had one. It was a radio attached to the handle bars on my bike so I could ride around listening to music. I probably annoyed people with it.

That's exactly how the fad started. People couldn't afford new furniture, so they improvised! Then artistic types started to style it rather than just using plywood and blocks (hence the picture I posted how the table and the flooring and other things match)

Exactly, I hadn't seen this done as an actual design, I.E. actually seen somebody try to achieve this look. I didn't realize that, "THAT" was a thing.

Anyway, yeah. Still in style here!

Active Pascal, Cobol, & RPG Programmers. You could add Perl to that too.

That said, any active Go programmers? I first learned Basic, then C / C++, php, then finally moved on to Python in 1999. Though recently, I've started playing with the Go language.

I like and get annoyed with it. (mainly from my C/C++ and Python experience, but it has some great traits too. It's fast as all get-out compared to all the Python I've written over the last 19 years.
Umm, yeah...what you said.

How could I forget -- mimeograph machines. My teachers used to print up their lessons for us with this machine that did everything in blue ink.
