Kid flashed last season. And his college tape was pretty good. Has a nose for the ball that's for sure.I doubt it, hes more of a depth player to me
Looking back its shocking how long we have been without a decent safety. In this pass happy era it's a head scratcher
Since Woodson retired Roy William's is the only safety even worth mentioning

They did
His name is Xavier Woods
At least they think he can be a good one

I do not think they thought of Jones as a S or he would not have been taken in the 1st.Woodson was a second-round pick who turned out to be first-round worthy (37th pick overall). Williams was a first-round pick. We have not drafted a pure safety that high since then, unless you count Byron Jones, who was considered a tweener. J.J. Wilcox is the closest as a third-round pick.
Jimmy had scouted many of the same players to come to Miami and play in the exact same Miami 4-3 scheme.Given the difficulty of finding decent safeties over the past 20 years, it’s amazing how easily Jimmy found good safeties – James Washington, Thomas Everett, Darren Woodson, Brock Marion. Geez, I’d kill for Brock Marion right now.
I personally believe the foundation for having a really good championship caliber defense, is by having strength through the middle, thereby controlling the middle of the field at every level. DT, MLB and Safety. They would have to get one in the later rounds that would be a pleasant surprise because the only two men to target Safeties since 89 were Johnson and Parcells and you can draw your own conclusions about that.
Conversely, why does it seem so easy for Dallas to have better than decent OL? 3 1sts and Collins would have been as well.
Two positions that Dallas does not seem to place value on are DT and S. Interesting that the two best DT since 89 were also acquired by those two men, Maryland and Glover.
The bigger question to me is why in the hell would Dallas hire a T2 DC and not fill it out properly? The apparent answer is that the only two times the team gave a damn about defense was when those two men were here.
Landon Collins was available when workout warrior Byron Jones was drafted. I usually don't rue draft picks cause its so hit and miss, but that one still hurts to me.
